Art Talk
This weekend promises to be a busy one on Main Street in Water Valley. Two galleries will have opening receptions in honor of their newest exhibits.
Last week I profiled Butch Anthony’s show, Anatomy Can Be Fun opening at Yalo. This week we will cover the show opening at Bozarts.
Drawn to Art will have its opening reception this Friday as well from 6 to 9 p.m. Thirteen artists have drawings displayed on the walls of the gallery.
These artists are all members of the Bozarts Alliance. The show will also feature a Draw-a-Thon with a huge canvas and supplies provided on the back wall of the mirror gallery.
Visitors to the gallery will be encouraged to draw and doodle, helping to create a communal piece of art that will then be split up into individual pieces and sold to customers towards the end of the exhibit which closes May 31.
The alliance is hoping to showcase the drawing process and to highlight this technique during the show. Many artists use drawing as part of their artistic process whether they are designers, painters or sculptors. This exhibit celebrates this art and the people who practice it.
The gallery is located at 403 North Main Street, and Yalo Studio is located at 303 so it will be easy to walk from one gallery to the next to enjoy both of the shows this Friday. The reception at Yalo will be from 6-8:30 p.m.
