    A program will be held at the Oakland Public Library for Pauline’s Memories. Pauline Barton will tell of her memories of early Oakland, Wednesday, May 8, beginning at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

Choirs, Soloists And Groups Invited To Scholarship Fund Gospel Fest
    The third J.C.H. Scholarship Fund Gospel Fest will be held in downtown Coffeeville, May 11, beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until.
    Choirs, soloists, or groups are asked to participate with four or more numbers. A concession stand will be open.

Annual Driver’s Flat Cemetery Day Set For May 4

 The annual Driver’s Flat Cemetery Day will be held Saturday, May 4, beginning at 10:30 a.m. A business meeting will be held about 11:30 a.m. and a pot luck lunch will be enjoyed at noon.     Valley City Lodge No. 402 F&AM will hold its next stated Communication Thursday, May 2, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle, beginning at 7:30 p.m. All members are hereby reminded of the time change and are requested to be present and support their local lodge.

Order Of Easter Star Installs New Officers At May 4 Meeting

  Water Valley Chapter No.5, Order of Eastern Star, will install new officers for the coming year on Saturday, May 4, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. with a covered dish supper and installation ceremony to follow. The meeting will be open to friends and family.
