Art Talk

By Andi Bedsworth

As mentioned last week, the Exchange Show will be held during the month of June at both the Powerhouse and Bozarts Gallery. The work has been delivered, and I got a sneak peek of what will be shown in the exhibits.
Six artists will be featured at Bozarts, and the work ranges from mixed media collages, paintings in oil, acrylic, and watercolor, fused glass and furniture.
There will be paintings by Benny Melton, who is studying painting at the University of Mississippi and Judy Nocifora who lives in Germantown, Tenn.
Pamela Locke will be showing some mixed media work, paintings and hand crafted furniture. She is a member of the Oxford Artists’ Guild.  Fused glass works on display are from Sheri Marshall who is also a member of the Guild and lives in Holly Springs.
Bailey Blu from Hernando, MS and a recent graduate of the BFA program at the University of Mississippi, will be showing her mixed media work. Lauren Cleary West, from Oxford, will be displaying her mixed media collages. This will be a fun show with most of these artists exhibiting for the first time at this gallery.
The alliance members will be showing their work at the Powerhouse in Oxford. Both shows will be up during the month of June, and the opening reception will be held at Bozarts this Friday, June 7th from 6-9pm.
The closing reception will be held at the Powerhouse on Tuesday, June 25th from 6-8pm.
