There is so much to do in the summer and appreciating the arts is one of those things. Many galleries in the area have fun shows this summer to satisfy your cravings for art viewing.
Art 2 Frame at 505 Heritage Drive in Oxford, has an exhibit up called Unexpected Art. It features work from Tim Pace who specializes in welded pieces of found materials and fiber/metal work by Linda Lindale. This show will be open through June 26th. The gallery/frame shop is open Monday-Friday 8am-6pm.
Plein Air Painting: The Mississippi Landscape will be showing at Southside Gallery in Oxford. It is an exhibition of landscape paintings curated by Philip R. Jackson. Many of the paintings were selected from an intensive summer workshop he held earlier this summer. Visiting artist Brian Rego and former alumnus, Martin Arnold will have work in the show as well. This show will be in the gallery thru July 7th.
The Exchange Show is up at Bozarts and at the Powerhouse throughout the rest of June, and The Vacation Show will open in the Powerhouse Gallery in July. This show will be a collection of art based on places people go for vacation. The places will not be listed in the titles so patrons can guess the locations at the closing reception in a fun interactive game.
As you can see there is a lot going on in the local arts venues, so head indoors to look at art. Send me your arts related news at email@example.com.
