Person Provides History On Family At YHS Meeting
The Yalobusha Historical Society (YHS) will meet Thursday, June 20, at 2 p.m. in its headquarters, the former Presbyterian Church in Coffeeville. James Person, Yalobusha Historical Society member and native of Velma, will speak on the Person Family. Visitors are welcome.

Blackmur Kicks Off Summer Reading Program
Blackmur Memorial Library is having its Summer Library Program each Wednesday morning during the summer beginning at 10 a.m. The theme for this year’s program in Dig Into Reading and each week the library will have a story time followed by a craft or an activity centered around the theme and a snack.
Each program will last about an hour. All children attending must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Wrestling Superstars Presents ‘Over The Edge’
Maximum Championship Wrestling Superstars will present “Over The Edge” Saturday, June 15. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and bell time will be 8.
This will be a fundraiser for the 858th H.C.C.—N.C.O. Calhoun National Guard in Calhoun City. General admission will be $10, with kids under 5 admitted free if accompanied by an adult.
School Sponsors Summer Feeding
The Water Valley School District will sponsor its annual free Summer Feeding Program May 28 through June 21 at the Davidson Elementary School Cafeteria. Free meals will be served to children up to age 18. Lunch will be served daily form 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Bus transportation will be provided for children who live in the city limits. Pick-up locations can be requested by contacting the district office at 473-1203.
Oakland Plans Homecoming
Current and former residents of Oakland and surrounding areas are cordially invited to “Memories and New Beginnings,” a homecoming celebration scheduled Saturday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the Oakland Presbyterian Church. The itinerary includes a potluck meal, fellowship and an update on “Friends of Oakland” projects. Class Of 1983 Celebrates Reunion
The Water Valley Class of 1983 will have their 30 year reunion Saturday, August 3, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Water Valley VFW Post on Highway 315, west of Water Valley. Finger foods will be served. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Bob Murphree. Individuals will be $25 each and couples will be $40.

Pleasant Agers Schedule Meeting
Pleasant Agers will have their monthly meeting Wednesday, June 19, in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Calhoun County. The church is located four miles west of Bruce on County Road 231. Meet and greet starts at 11:30, with a potluck lunch served at noon. After lunch Rev. Reese Ward, pastor of Westside Baptist Church will be in charge of the program. Pastor Justin Gates invites everyone to attend.
