Oakland Plans Homecoming

Class Of 1983 Celebrates Reunion
The Water Valley Class of 1983 will have their 30 year reunion Saturday, August 3, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Water Valley VFW Post on Highway 315, west of Water Valley. Finger foods will be served. Funds are needed for the maintenance of Camp Ground Cemetery. This cemetery is cared for by Camp Ground Baptist Church members. Pine Valley Takes Orders For Boston Butts
Pine Valley Volunteer Fire Department, located at 4454 Highway 32, Water Valley, is selling Boston Butts. They will be one for $20 or two for $35. Deadline for ordering will be June 30, and pickup date is July 3 at 4 p.m. Sales from this project will benefit the fire department. Annual Stewart Reunion Is July 6
The 34th annual Stewart reunion will be held Saturday, July 6, in the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall, located at 1020 N. Main and S. Court Street in Water Valley. Blackmur Continues Summer Reading Program
Blackmur Memorial Library is having its Summer Library Program each Wednesday morning during the summer beginning at 10 a.m. The theme for this year’s program is Dig Into Reading and each week the library will have a story time followed by a craft or an activity centered around the theme and a snack.
Each program will last about an hour. All children attending must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Person Provides Family History At YHS Meeting
The Yalobusha Historical Society (YHS) will meet Thursday, June 20, at 2 p.m. in its headquarters, the former Presbyterian Church in Coffeeville. James Person, Yalobusha Historical Society member and native of Velma, will speak on the Person Family. Visitors are welcome.
