There will be a love day for Deacon James Horton and Sis. Earline Horton Saturday evening, July 27, beginning at 6 p.m., in the Mt. Moriah Association Building. Each church is asked to participate with a donation. Deacon Horton has worked for years in the Association as the president of the Mt. Moriah Deacons and Laymen Ministry.
Sis. Horton also worked for years as president of the Mt. Moriah Mission Ministry. They have both labored in keeping the Mt. Moriah building clean on the inside and manicured on the outside.

Pastor Kevin D. Lee, Sr. and the Hopewell M.B. Church family is canceling the request for choirs and drama teams with love for Deacon James and Earlene Horton’s “Love Day” on July 27, beginning at 6 o’clock in the evening. The program will be held in the Mt. Moriah Association Building at 3657 CR 211, Coffeeville.
“Due to the family’s request of time limitations, we are asking you to come and show love to these people of God. Come with open hearts, for this is a blessed occasion as we come together and find Grace to help in time of need,” concluded Bro. Lee.

A benefit concert for Tonia Smith, formerly of Oakland, who now lives in Charleston will be held July 27, beginning at 6:30 p.m., in Massey Grove M.B. Church at Oakland. Tonia has been battling with a rare form of cancer and has been unable to work and support her two boys for a long time.

The monthly singing at Mt. Liberty Church, located off Highway 315, near Water Valley, will be held Sunday night, July 28. Music begins at 6 p.m.The public is invited to attend.

Everyone is invited to a celebration of the contributions of women in the church, the home, and society, on Sunday, July 28, beginning at 2:30 p.m. in Pleasant Grove M.B. Church.
Minister Mildred Polk of Southaven, a native of this area, will be the guest speaker. Mary Horton Chatman is chairperson of the program, and Rev. Larry J. Hervey serves as pastor of the church.

The Trailsmen Quartet will sing at Camp Ground Baptist Church on Sunday night, July 28, beginning at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the singing.

Smith Chapel M.B. Church will hold its first annual Youth Celebration Sunday, July 28, beginning at 3 p.m. All youth choirs, praise teams, and soloists are encouraged to participate in this joyous time. Refreshments will be served after the program. The Smith Chapel Youth Leaders and Elder Richard Smith, Pastor, cordially invite all youth to attend.

Mt. Moriah’s Annual Session Gets Underway On July 29
The 105th Annual Session of the Mt. Moriah District Association, consisting of 31 churches within Yalobusha, Calhoun and Grenada Counties, will be held at the Mt. Moriah District Associa-tion’s building on July 29 – August 3. This year’s theme is “Solidarity with the Savior Through His Works.”
The public is welcome to attend classes, under the direction of Marjorie Moore, Congress Dean, on Tuesday through Friday, from 3 until 5 p.m. daily on the following subjects:
• Survey of Romans, taught by Pastor Robert Reed, Pastor of Pleasant Hill M. B. Church, Tillatoba;
• Christian Evangelism, taught by Pastor Melvin Montgomery, Pastor of Faith & Grace M. B. Church, Grenada;
• Developing a Senior Adult Ministry, taught by Dorothy Kee, member of Pleasant Grove M. B. Church, Coffeeville; and
• The Spirit of Timothy, taught by Pastor Larry Hervey, Pastor of Pleasant Grove M. B. Church, Coffeeville.
Youth classes will meet at Bethlehem M. B. Church, under the direction of the District Youth Council: Earlene Townes (Bethlehem M. B. Church, Coffeeville), Vickie Person (Bayson Chapel M. B. Church, Water Valley) and Deacon Larry Stokes (Everdale M. B. Church, Water Valley). The youth classes are:
• It’s Okay to Be Different to be taught by Ms. Syreeta L. Kee, member of Pleasant Grove M. B. Church, Coffeeville; and
• Why We Pray to be taught by Cynthia Pulliam, member of Bridges Chapel M.B. Church, Bruce.
On Monday night, beginning at 7 p.m., the youth program will be held and will include the best talents from local youth ministries throughout the association.
On Tuesday afternoon, from 2:15 to 3 p.m., the Dean’s Hour will be held. Marjorie Moore, Congress Dean, and member of Pleasant Grove M. B. Church, will give the Dean’s annual address.
On Tuesday night, starting at 7 p.m., the district welcome program will be held. The guest speaker will be Pastor Randy Jackson, Moderator of the Grenada District Association and Pastor of Bell Flower M. B. Church in Grenada.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., lectures will be delivered by Rev. Larry W. Ware, District Lecturer and Pastor of the Bethlehem M. B. Church.
On Wednesday night, the worship and praise Service will begin at 7 p.m., and the sermon will be delivered by Rev. Thomas Tillman, Pastor of Jackson Chapel M. B. Church, Bruce.
The public is also invited Thursday night, beginning at 7 p.m., for Moderator’s Night. The annual address will be given by Moderator Amos Sims, Pastor of Bayson Chapel M. B. Church, Water Valley.
On Friday evening, beginning at 5:15, the youth presentation will be given from the week’s classes.

Union Hill Church will have a Family and Friends Day Program August 4, beginning at 2:30 p.m. “We are asking everyone to come out and join us on this special day,” stated Rev. James Johnson, pastor.
