WVHS Alumni Invited To All-Inclusive Reunion

A multi-class reunion will be held Friday night, Aug. 2, beginning at 7 p.m. for WVHS alumni. The gathering is being planned and hosted by a group of former students from the 60s.
“This is not just for the 60’s classes, everyone is welcome,” said planners. It will be held in the “meeting room” building behind the Little Professionals Day Care at 521 North Court Street with plenty of parking. The event will include a potluck supper, same as in the past. The food can be purchased or homemade.  Plates, ice, cups, cutlery, napkins will be furnished. If you can’t bring anything just bring yourself. Dress is very casual, according to planners.
Also, attendees are urged to bring photos and memorabilia. A slide projector is also available. For more information or to find out what food items to bring, please call 473-2236.

Classes Of 1958 And 1961 Schedule Informal Get-Together
    All friends, family members and classmates of the Water Valley High School classes or 1958 and 1961 are cordially invited to attend the annul informal get-together scheduled Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Please try to be present at noon for the group photos.
    If you have old photos and memorabilia you would like to share, please bring them with you to the fellowship hall, which is in the south wing of the Church of Christ, located on the northwest corner of North Main and Wise streets.
    Several members of the class of 1960 are also expected to attend this year. Don’t miss this opportunity to spend some time with old friends and catch up on the news. Volunteers to furnish refreshments and soft drinks are always appreciated.

Class Of 1963 Makes Plans For 50th Class Reunion

Recreation Center Sponsors Fish Fry To Raise Money For Building Fund

  Highways and Hedges Recreation Center will have a fish fry to benefit their building fund on Saturday, July 27. The fish fry will be held in the Highways and Hedges Recreation Center, 407 East Lee St., from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Fish, coleslaw, bread, beans, cake and a drink will be $8. For $1 you could win a 1’x3’ barbecue grill on wheels.

Singing, Karaoke Scheduled At the Pickin’ Shed

 Singing at the Pickin’ Shed will be held Friday night, July 26. There will be live music. Saturday night, July 27, will be karaoke music. Potluck is at 6 p.m. and the music begins at 7 each night. The public is invited to attend.
Masonic Commandery Sets
Date For Next Stated Conclave
  St. Cyr Commandery No 6 will hold its next stated conclave in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle on Thursday, July 25. Members are encouraged to make an effort to attend and support the Commandery.

Class Of 1968 Celebrates 45th Reunion

  The Water Valley High School Class of 1968 will have their 45th Reunion on Saturday, August 3.  Class members will meet at the Country Club at 6:30 p.m. On Friday night, August 2, the class will meet at 7 p.m.  in Dot Trusty’s back yard.

Class Of 2003 Marks One Decade

  The Water Valley High School Class of 2003 will have their Ten Year Reunion at Bozart’s Art Gallery on Main Street in Water Valley August 3, beginning at 6 p.m.
  Ticket prices are $30 per person or $50 per couple.

Jeff Davis School Reunion Planned For Carnival Saturday

  The Jeff Davis school reunion will be held Saturday, August 3, beginning at 6 p.m. The gathering will be held in the Bethel Baptist Church’s Fellowship Hall. All former students, spouses and friends are invited to attend.
  Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish for a potluck dinner. Those attending are also encouraged to bring photos, year books, and any other things you might have from your Jeff Davis years. Looking forward to a great meeting with friends.

WVHS Will Be Open To Visitors During Watermelon Carnival

  Water Valley High School will be open to visitors from 10:30 a.m.-12-30 p.m. Saturday morning, August 3, during Watermelon Carnival Weekend. Principal Glenn Kitchens will be in the office and available to visitors who would like to take a look around the building.
