Living Well In Yalobusha County

Activities Keep Extension Office Busy

By Pamela Redwine

The Clover Buds and the Family and Consumer Science “Older” Clubs met Thursday, September 19  at the Multi-Purpose Building. We had a very busy meeting. We were very excited because we had 20 youth and eight adults attend! Our guest speaker was Mrs. Linda Williamson.
Mrs. Williamson shared with us about the Operation Christmas Child Project. We then took up pet care items for the Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society.  We had eight children to contribute to this service project.  Later, we began working on our Christmas Project for the nursing home.
A special thanks to Mrs. Linda Williamson for coming to speak to us and to all of the parents that purchased supplies for our service projects and for those that stayed and helped during the meeting. We could not do it without you!

Exercise Classes
The Healthy You Exercise class meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m.  The class is free and is open to the public.  Please wear cool comfortable clothes, good walking shoes and bring water to drink. We are using light weights (1, 2 or 3 pounds). Weights are optional, and you can still get a good workout not using the weights.

Burlap Wreath Class
A burlap wreath class will be offered on Tuesday, October 15. The 6 p.m. class has filled up but we are now opening up a 4 p.m. class. The cost of the class is $10 and will cover all of your supplies needed to make a basic burlap wreath. You can then decorate your wreath on your own using sunflowers, rustic initial letters, grapevine, etc. If you are interested in registering for the class you may call 675-2730.
However, payment must be received to be considered registered for the class. Space is limited to 10 participants. Please make checks Payable to MSU-ES.  Payment can be brought to the Extension Office or mailed to:
