Art Talk
The University of Mississippi Art Department is gearing up for several events in the next few weeks. Both are open to the public, and they are encouraging students, faculty, and people in the community to attend.
First on their schedule is a lecture by Maude Schuyler Clay to be held Thursday, Oct.13th on campus in Bondurant Hall in Room 204C at 2:30 pm. This lecture is being held in conjunction with a show that has been in Gallery 130 this month. Clay will talk about the exhibition which features photographs from two different series she has worked on. There are images from her series called Big Black River which she worked on for over four years during four different seasons. Portraits included in the show are from a project she calls Her Circle.
Following the lecture will be a reception in Gallery 130 in Meek Hall from 4-6 p.m. on campus. The artist resides in Sumner.
The following Thurs-day will be continue to be busy for the art department as they prepare for their annual pARTy. This auction will benefit the department and will include art work from students, faculty and alumni. It is being held at the Powerhouse and will have several components.
