Art Talk
It is that time of year again: Time for tree decorating, gift shopping and wrapping and attending parties. Three local galleries are continuing their holiday tradition of installing special shows that are festive and help art enthusiasts get in the Christmas spirit on this Friday, Dec. 6.
The Fifth Annual Holiday Miniatures Show at Bozarts Gallery is a popular show that always draws big crowds to see the many art works that are on display and for sale just in time for the holidays.
This year there are over 35 artist participating and over 80 works on display. Bozarts opening will be from 6-9 p.m. and is located at 403 Main Street.
Across the street at J. Clayton’s Eclectic Art Studio, they will be open and selling limited edition Bo Wallace prints by artist, Ray Meifert.
At 303 N. Main, Yalo Studio is holding their Second Annual Multiples Show by Mike Howard. It is an art show/sweepstakes, and this year is Moonpies and RC Colas: Win a Trip to Chattanooga Sweepstakes. This is how it works: You purchase a painting of either a Moon pie or an RC Cola.
All of the paintings are numbered, and your number becomes your raffle ticket. Owners Coulter Fussell and Megan Kingery Patton will spin the wheel, and the winning numbers will receive fabulous prizes.
The party starts at 6 p.m., so you need to buy your paintings in advance. More information is present on their website www.yalostudio.com.
With these three openings, there will be lots of fun to be had, but there is still more. Water Valley Chamber and Water Valley Main Street Association have teamed up to sponsor horse drawn carriage rides in the downtown area from 6 to 8 p.m. What could be more traditional than a night of art-going in the Valley?
