Northwest Christmas Concert Is Dec. 5 In Howard Coliseum
The Fine Arts Division at Northwest Mississippi Community College will hold its annual Christmas Concert on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. in Howard Coliseum on the Senatobia campus. Because of the change of venue, no advance tickets are necessary. The event is free to the public.
The concert will feature performances by the Northwest Singers and Chamber Choir, The Entertainers, the Symphonic Winds, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and the Steel Band. Several special small ensembles will also perform selections.
Concert goers can expect to hear seasonal favorites and “The Night Before Christmas” will be read for the children by Ed Carroll, assistant director of Campus Life and Housing.

Youth League Basketball Sign-up Scheduled At Sanders Chapel
There will be a Youth Basketball League sign-up at Sanders Chapel Family Life Center for ages 6-12. The sign-up will be held Friday, December 6, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. There is a $25 registration fee.
Also needed are positive men and women to assist with coaching, teaching fundamentals, and good sportsmanship.
Arts Council Seeks Works For Display
The Water Valley Arts Council is looking for artists to exhibit their work at the Renasant Bank in Water Valley. Painting, drawing, photography, collage, quilting and mixed media will be accepted. There is no charge to show the work, but all pieces must be ready to hang with proper frames and wires for hanging. Please call Pati D’Amico at 473-0972 if you are interested in showing your work.
Meal Will Be Served To The Needy During Holidays
Youth Vineyard is offering a free Christmas dinner for people in need during the holidays. The meal will be served at 410 Calhoun Street, next to Everdale Church. To register your family and find out additional information, call 563-265-2522.
Youth Vineyard Will Present Christmas Play Following Saturdays’ Parade
Youth Vineyard Productions will present A Christmas Miracle on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2:30, following the Christmas parade.
Come enjoy the local cast as a boy gets his wish to walk after a car accident on Christmas day. Admission is a $10 donation for adults. School age kids get in for free with an adult. Attendees are also encouraged to bring toys as part of the toy drive Youth Vineyard Productions in hosting in conjunction with the play. The play will be directed by Terry Rockette.
The play will be moved to the following Saturday, Dec. 14, if the parade is cancelled due to inclement weather.
Lion’s Pancake Breakfast Is Saturday
The December Lion’s Pancake Breakfast will be held Saturday morning, December 7, from 6:30-9 a.m. All you care to eat of pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee will be served in the Depot Building on Main Street. The cost will be $5 per plate.
At this time Christmas Cheese Boxes will also be available.
