Water Valley’s Got It!
By Tyler Hill

Chamber of Commerce
Water Valley is fortunate to have a growing number of small, locally owed businesses. The Water Valley Area Chamber of Com-merce would like to highlight some of our member businesses that help make our town special. These business owners strive to provide expert service, quality goods, and unique products at a competitive rate. These entrepreneurs create jobs in our community and improve the atmosphere and appearance of our town with attractive store fronts and streetscapes. They support many local organizations and charities by donating time and resources. These business leaders are our friends, neighbors, and family. We are proud of them and are thankful that they invest in our community.
You and I can support local merchants by choosing to buy locally. Purchas-ing goods and services in our community helps our business district flourish and keeps our hard-earned money in our community. Shopping locally helps businesses remain open to serve the public and even allows owners to expand inventory. A portion of every dollar that we spend in Water Valley goes directly toward community improvements and our local schools from sales tax revenue.
Did you know, Water Valley has a very populated and growing medical community? When you hear the word “medical,” you think of a hospital setting, right? Water Valley is home to Chamber of Commerce member Yalobusha General Hospital, which houses several different medical disciplines. YGH employs five full-time physicians and at least five nurse practitioners scattered between the Odom Clinic, Coffee-ville Clinic, Oakland Clinic, and the Medical Arts Building and offer an array of services.
Services include chiropractic care, physical therapy, pediatric care, adult day services, and of course a top rated nursing home. They are also capable of taking a vast amount of imaging such as MRI, CT Scan, X-ray, and ultrasound. YGH is also one of the largest employers in the community.
Outside of the hospital setting, Water Valley also boasts two local dentistry practices including Cham-ber member Dr. Barry Weeks Family Dentistry. Dr. Steve Edwards of Tri-Lake Eye Clinic is our local Optometrist. Cinnamon Foster, FNP of Yalobusha Medical Clinic located at 712 South Main St., and don’t forget to pick up any prescription medication from long time Chamber member Turnage Drug-store.
You see, Water Valley has many medical options available right around the corner. Some of which you may not have known about. So, the next time you have a pain, illness, or have trouble with your sight, look locally for the answer first.
As you can see when it comes to your medical needs, Water Valley’s GOT IT!
