Blackmur Library Officers Plan Organizational Meeting
The Officers of the Friends of the Blackmur Memorial Library will have an organizational meeting on Friday February 7 at 11 a.m. in the library. All members are urged to attend and anyone interested in becoming a member of Friends of the Library is also welcomed.
Artists Needed For Bank Display
The Renasant Bank and Water Valley Arts Council are looking for artists to display their work at the bank in Water Valley. Painters, photographers, collagists and quilters are welcome. All work must be ready to hang with proper frames and hooks for hanging. Please call Pati D’Amico at 662-473-0972 if interested in having a show.
Pickin’ Shed Hosts Musicians
There will be live music at The Pickin’ Shed, located on Hwy 9 West, in Banner, on Friday night January 24 beginning at 7 p.m.. The House Band, The Ellis Family, Steve McGregory, J. D. Long, and several other local performers will entertain. Karaoke is planned Saturday night, January 25 at 7p.m.. There will be a potluck meal at 6 each night and the public is invited to both events.
Suicide Prevention Is Topic At School Forum
A Principal’s Link is scheduled at Water Valley High School Monday evening, January 27, beginning at 6 p.m. Special guests will be in attendance to make a presentation on suicide prevention. All parents and members of the school community are invited to come to Principal’s Link for this presentation and also to ask questions, make suggestions, share concerns or share hopes and dreams for the future of the school district. Please feel welcome to join Principal Glenn Kitchens for the suicide prevention presentation and an informal time of sharing and fellowship.
Masonic Chapter Schedules Open Installation Of Officers
St Cyr Commandery No. 6 will hold its next stated Conclave at the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle on Thursday, January 23 beginning with a covered dish supper at 6 p.m. with an open installation of new officers to follow at 7 p.m.
Friends and family are invited to join. Officers to be installed are reminded to be in full uniform. Take due notice thereof and govern yourselves accordingly. Please make an effort to attend and support your Commandery.
