Diamond Club Seeks Sponsors For Baseball Banners
The Water Valley Diamond Club is selling ad space on baseball banners to hang on the concession stand at the high school baseball field. The banners will replace signs hanging on field fences.
A company sponsorship is $100 (large outside block and it is $50 to have names listed on the inside block. To claim one of the spots, mail a check to: Water Valley Diamond Club, C/O Sasha Hyde, 3 CR 431, Water Valley, MS 38965. Also let the booster club know how to list it on the banner.
World War II Veteran Is Speaker At YHS Meeting
World War II veteran Eugene Spearman will present a program about his experiences during his service in Europe. His comments will come during the monthly Yalobusha Historical Society meeting, scheduled Thursday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. in its headquarters the former Presbyterian Church in Coffeeville.
Live Music Planned At The Pickin’ Shed In Banner
There will be live music at The Pickin’ Shed, located on Highway 9 W, Banner, Friday night, February 21, beginning at 7 p.m. The house band will be The Ellis Family Bluegrass Gospel Band. J. D. Long and his cousins with a “Blast from the Past” and several other local performers will also be present.
Karaoke will be Saturday night, February 22, beginning at 7 p.m.
There will be a potluck meal at six each night and the public is invited to both events.
Relay For Life Meeting Set For Thursday
A meeting for Yalobusha County’s 2014 Relay For Life will be held Thursday, February 20, beginning at 6 p.m., in the Conference Room of The Farm Bureau Office on Frostland Drive (Highway 32 West). All committee members, team captains, and other persons interested in volunteering to help with the 2014 event are urged to attend. Orders and money collected for Relay T-shirts should be turned in at this meeting. If a team captain cannot attend, they are asked to send a representative.
Jeff Davis Water Association Will Have Annual Meeting
The Jeff Davis Rural Water Association will hold its annual meeting March 3, beginning at 7 p.m., in the association building located at 13589 Highway 32 West. All members are encouraged to attend.
