Daffodils are blooming; little buds of green are shyly beginning to show, baby birds are chirping, warm days are slowly but surely arriving. Spring is roaring in with beauty and excitement. Along with all of these exhilarating developments, there is one particular event that I am beyond elated about. It’s the 2014 Junior Auxiliary of Water Valley Spring Fling.
This is one of the only semi-formal events to take place here in town. Events kick off at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 12, with the first annual golf scramble. Come out and help raise funds for the new community clothes closet while you enjoy an afternoon of fun with your friends. Sign your team up now at Jay Gee’s. This is a flighted tournament comprised of four person teams, mixed youth and adult.
Following the golf scramble will be a night of laughs, live music and bidding wars at the annual Crown Gala that will begin at 6 p.m. sharp and end around 9 p.m. You and I alike will have a shot at showing our support to this town and celebrate with Junior Auxiliary and local talents.
This phenomenal Gala will also be trimmed in light dining and provide a chance to engage in a silent auction. This spectacular evening will include live music from three local bands. That’s right Water Valley citizens, local. If you’re a big supporter locally then you will not want to miss this awesome opportunity to show your love. So not only is there going to be superb light snacks, dancing and an unforgettable silent auction, we can support our local, very talented musicians while having a great time. The bands will include our very own Jacob King, The Eisenhauer Band and Whiskey Joe and The Bottom Dollars.

I’m delighted to live in a place that shows what is important by taking the time and resources to plan organized events that I can engage in while showing my support to the charming town I have fallen in love with.
