Art Talk

By Andi Bedsworth

It’s on its way! Artists have been transformed and reconfigured into science fiction art masters who have landed in Water Valley to bring us a science fiction exhibition entitled, Things To Come.  Beamed up from New Orleans, Michael Fedor has joined William Warren and Thomas Grosskopf of the Bozarts Alliance to bring us this new show.
Grosskopf and Warren often explore the fantastical in their art and paintings. This show will allow them to fully explore these themes that fascinate them. Expect to see collages from Fedor, paintings from Warren and sculptures and more from Grosskopf. On the back wall of the mirror gallery Pati D’Amico will display her seven women of sci-fi series.
This show will open on April 4, but the reception will be held on Friday, April 11th from 6-9 p.m., so plan to be there with science fiction garb on (not required).
Also opening on that night right down the street at Yalo Studio will be Tim Kerr in Progress. It will be held from 6-9 p.m. as well. This skateboarding icon and Texas hardcore punk legend is bringing his art to the valley.
The interesting array of artists who come here to show their work never fails to boggle my mind, and I am so excited that we have such an artistic community here. Get ready for both of these shows, and I will scoop out more information to share with you next week on both shows.
