Friends Of The Library Plan Kickoff For Library Week
Library Week will be April 14 through April 18. A special day—a kick off—will be held for all the children of the community Wednesday, April 16, from 3:30 until 5 p.m. The special day will include games, designing and painting posters, reading books, lots of fun things and a lot of good food, all at the Blackmur Memorial Library. This event is sponsored by Friends of the Library.
Sardis Hosts Sixth Annual Aprilfest Car Show
The sixth annual Sardis Aprilfest Open Car Show will be held in downtown Sardis Saturday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show is open to all makes of car, truck and motorcycle.

Oxford Attorneys Host Clinic To Help Divorced Parents
Holcomb and Dunbar Attorneys will host a Divorced Parents’ Rights Clinic at 6 p.m. on April 24 at their offices at 400 S. Lamar, Suite A in Oxford.
Topics include: How do I change visitation? How can I collect unpaid support? Can I change custody? How can I help with college? Attorneys Jonathan Masters and Stacey Golmon will be the presenters. Annual Junior Auxiliary Egg Hunt Is April 5 at Gazebo Park
The annual Junior Auxiliary of Water Valley Easter egg hunt is scheduled for April 5 at 10 a.m. in Gazebo Park. This event is open to the public. Come see the Easter bunny and hunt for eggs. Prizes will be given to the children who find the most eggs.

Junior Auxiliary Schedules ‘Spring Fling’ On April 12
The Junior Auxiliary of Water Valley’s “Spring Fling” will be held at the Yalobusha Country Club on April 12. The event will celebrate a week-long awareness for the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries. The day will begin with a golf scramble, which will be $140 per team and continue into the evening with a silent auction and live music. Tickets for the evening’s festivities will be $20 for a single ticket and $35 for a pair.

Relay For Life Teams
Schedule Roadblocks For Cancer
Relay For Life Teams will have roadblocks Saturday, April 5, from 8 a.m. until noon in Water Valley, Coffeeville, and Oakland to raise money for this year’s event. All participating Water Valley Team members will meet at Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church at 7:30 a.m. Coffeeville team members should meet at the four-way stop by the high school at 7:50 a.m.
Oakland team members will meet at the four-way stop on Highway 51 at 7:50 a.m. In case of rain, the roadblocks will be held the next Saturday, April 12. Please give generously to this worthy cause and let’s “Give Cancer the Boot!”
Annual Easter Activities Scheduled At Cossar State Park
Cossar State Park will hold the annual Easter activities Saturday, April 19. The egg hunt will begin at 10 a.m. and other games and activities will follow. This will all be held behind the visitor’s center. The Easter Bunny will be there, along with Smokey the Bear and Woodsy the Owl. Friends of Cossar will have a concession stand open.

Step Show Will Benefit Martha Telford
There will be a benefit Step Show for Martha Telford, Saturday, April 5. beginning at 5 p.m. in the Water Valley Civic Auditorium. Step performances by Alpha Phi Alpha, Zeta Phi Beta, Phi Beta Sigma, Omega Psi Phi, and the Distinguished Gentlemen, a youth team from Marks. The entry fee will be $6.

Monthly Lions Club Pancake
Breakfast Is Saturday
The monthly Lions Club pancake breakfast will be held Saturday, April 5, between the hours of 6:30 and 9 a.m., in the Depot Building on Main Street, Water Valley.
The menu is all you care to eat of pancakes, sausage, juice, and coffee for $5 per plate.
“Come out and enjoy a delicious breakfast, some great fellowship, and pick up a supply of cheese, while helping to fund the many charitable projects of the Lions Club” invites Head Chef Ernie Aune.
Cowboys And Cowgirls From 20 States To Compete In NWCC Rodeo This Weekend
Gateway Tire and Syca-more Bank proudly present the Landers Dodge/U.S. Army Rodeo Thursday – Saturday, April 3-5 at the Northwest Mississippi Community College Multi-purpose Arena. The main event will begin at 7:30 each night.
Collegiate cowboys and cowgirls from 20 colleges and universities from across a seven-state area will converge on Senatobia for three nights of action as they ride and rope, hoping to garner points that will qualify them to compete at the College National Finals in Casper, Wyo.
Rodeo fans will have the opportunity to see some of the rankest livestock in the country as the big trucks from the 5M Rodeo Company roll into town.
Rodeo funny man Dusty Myers returns to Northwest for the second year. A five-time Rodeo Entertainer of the Year, Myers keeps the laughs rolling as he dodges bulls and imparts his own style of fun and excitement to fans.
Tickets are on sale now at any Sycamore Bank location. General admission is $10 at the gate, and $8 in advance, while children six and under are free with a paid adult. Thursday, April 3 is $5 night. Saturday is Military Night and all military personnel are admitted free with a military ID.
