Soccer Registration Continues Saturday At Crawford

    Registration for Magnolia Youth League Soccer for boys and girls, ages 3-16, will be held Saturday, August 16, from 9-12, at the Crawford Sports Complex. The cost for registration will be $45. Oakland Auxiliary Club Plans November Fall Festival

    The Oakland Auxiliary Club will host a fall festival Saturday, November 1, from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at three Oakland Recreational Parks. The vendor fee is $10 and there will be food and fun for everyone. Flowers Family Schedule Reunion At Enid Lake

    The Flowers reunion will be held Sunday, August 31 (Labor Day weekend), beginning at 11 a.m. It will be held in the River View Area, below the levee of Enid Dam. All family and friends are invited to attend. For more information call T. J. Flowers at (662) 623-8695.

Mid-Night Run Performs At VFW’s Saturday Night Dance

    Providing music for the regular VFW Saturday Night Dance on August 16 will be the Mid-Night Run band. The music begins at 8 p.m. and continues until midnight. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy dancing or just listening to the music. VFW Post 4100’s Home is located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley.

Art Crawl Is Next Month

The Water Valley Art Council’s 6th Annual Art Crawl is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 5:30 – 9 pm. Artists, musicians, creative folks of every sort, this is our opportunity to shine a spotlight on you.

Moorman Will Speak On Denley Kinfolks At YHS Meeting

John Moorman is scheduled to speak at the Yalobusha Historical Society meeting on Thursday, Aug. 21 meeting at 2 p.m. in the former Coffeeville Presbyterian Church.  John’s topic is “My Denley Kinfolks.” Visitors are welcome.

Pine Valley School Reunion Is Third Saturday In September

    The Pine Valley School Community Center Reunion will be held (as always) on the third Saturday of September, which will be September 20 this year. The reunion will be held in the Pine Valley Schoolhouse in the Pine Valley Community and will start at 10 o’clock. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish of their favorite food to be served at lunch, which will be served at noon. Everyone is encouraged to mark their calendar for this event. More details concerning the reunion will be given at a later date.

Wrestling Superstars Schedules Match At Multi-Purpose Building

     Maximum Championship Wrestling Superstars will present “Over The Edge” Saturday, August 16, in the Yalobusha County Multi-Purpose Building, located at 18025 Highway 7 South, Coffeeville. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and bell time is 7 p.m. General admission will be $10, with children five and under admitted free. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Civitan Organization Meeting Is August 19

    Would you like to join a group of Water Valley business people who want to help their community?
    The first Civitan organizational meeting is scheduled Tuesday, August 19, at  noon in the Chamber of Commerce Office, 206 Main Street, Water Valley.
    Civitan is an all-volunteer international service organization of more than 55,000 members in 28 nations working together in community clubs to help those less fortunate than themselves. Civitan clubs provide a great deal of service to their communities, with emphasis on aid to people with developmental disabilities, youth leadership development, and good citizenship.             Through Civitan, club members discover the best in themselves and in others. Civitan gives its members an opportunity to be involved in helping others.
