Oct. 4, 11, 18 & 25
The youth department at Woodland Hills Baptist Church will hold Backyard Vacation Bible Schools on all Saturdays in October. VBS will be held in Water Valley’s City Park from 1-4 p.m. on October 4, 11, 18, and 25. Included in each day’s activities will be Bible study, crafts, recreation, and light refreshments.
“All young people are invited to attend any, or all, of these sessions,” stated Dustin Pierce, Youth Minister.
Sunday, October 5
First Christian Church of Water Valley will celebrate homecoming this Sunday, October 5, beginning at 10 a.m. Past and present members, plus friends and visitors are invited to attend.
Special guests will be David and Susan (Dixon) Pannell. David served as youth minister at First Christian Church and presently is preaching minister at Common Ground Christian Church in Nettleton. Special music will be provided by the FCC Hand Bell Choir and possibly others. A fellowship dinner will follow the worship service.
First Christian Church is located on the corner of North Main and South Court Streets in Water Valley. Feel free to call David Freeman, Minister, at 473-2884 for more information. “Come celebrate this glorious day with us! We will be looking for you,” concluded Bro. Freeman.

The church family at Zion Grove M.B. Church of Coffeeville will celebrate their annual anniversary Sunday, October 5. Sunday School will start at 10 a.m., followed by regular worship service at 11 o’clock. The anniversary program will begin at 2:30 p.m. Dinner will be served following morning worship service. The morning sermon will be delivered by Pastor Otha Coffey and the afternoon sermon will be delivered by Pastor John Keeler from Oak Hill M.B. Church.

The Bayson Chapel Church family invites you to join them in celebrating their Harvest Day Program on Sunday, October 5. This will be an all-day event, starting with their morning service at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served immediately after morning service. The evening program will begin at 2:30 p.m. and the guest speaker will be Minister Jonathan Roberson of Temple Praise Ministry in Memphis. He will be accompanied by his church family.

Miles Memorial Church will have a Family and Friends Day Program Sunday, October 5, beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. Dr. Kenneth Jones, pastor of Sanders Chapel C.M.E. Church, and his church family will be special guests.
“We welcome pastors, choirs, soloist, in participation, offerings, and prayers. We are looking forward to fellowshipping with you as we ‘Fill-A-Pew,’”states Rev. Sherlyn Brown and the Miles Memorial Church family.

The church family at Sand Springs Presbyterian Church will host the annual homecoming on October 5 at 11 a.m. The church is located at 267 CR 354 in the Orrwood Community in Lafayette County.
Services will be led by Rev. Donald R. Howie of Oxford. During the service world wide communion will be observed. Following the worship service there will be a potluck dinner on the grounds. In conjunction with homecoming there will be a reunion of the grandchildren of Robert and Euphia Phillips Gray of the Orrwood community. Sand Springs Church was founded in 1850, with the present church built in 1854. The church is on the National Register of Historical Sites. Regular worship services are conducted every Sunday at 10 a.m., followed by lunch and fellowship.
Sunday, Oct. 12
Sunday School High Attendance Day will be observed at Woodland Hills Baptist Church Sunday, October 12. Sunday School begins at 9:30 and is followed by morning worship at 10:30. Everyone is encouraged to attend Sunday School and to bring an unchurched family member, friend, or neighbor.
The theme of the day will be “True Blue Sunday” and those attending are urged to dress using some Blue Devil theme. The ladies and girls outfits will feature cheerleader apparel and the men and boys will follow the theme of football players.

The annual Lovejoy Church harvest supper will be held Sunday, October 12, at 4 p.m., in the church in Panola County. Everyone is invited for a time of fellowship and worship. There will be a potluck picnic on the grounds after the service. Lovejoy is a Methodist Church, founded in 1884 by early settlers in this area.
Saturday, Oct. 18
The Bayson Chapel Church family invites you to come out and support Minister Michael Jefferson, who will be inspiring family and friends with his first sermon Saturday, October 18, beginning at 5 p.m.
