Learn Holiday Decorating With Local Celebrities

The holiday house will be here soon, Saturday, October 25! We have got some great holiday demonstrations planned, by local celebrities. Here is the schedule:
10 a.m. Holiday Decorations – Glenda Gordon;
11 a.m. Holiday Arrangements – Betty Baker Thomas;
12 p.m. Holiday Ornaments – Deborah Bourn;
1 p.m.  Holiday Doors (Burlap Door Decorations) – Marilyn Haynes; and
2 p.m.  Healthy Holiday Meals – April Edwards.
Remember, there is no admission charge, but this is the kickoff for our Food for Families Food Drive, so please bring a canned or non-perishable item.
The Crochet group will meet on Thursday, October 16 at 10 a.m. This group is free and is open to the public. If you would like to learn to crochet or if you would just like a group to meet with to work on your crocheting, this is the group for you. We hope you will join us.
The Healthy You Exercise Group meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Extension Office.  Join us for up to 45 minutes of low impact physical activity. If you come, make sure you wear comfortable, cool clothes, good walking shoes and bring some water to drink.
The Sewing for Service Group will meet on Monday, October 20, from 10 a.m. until 2 p..m.  Currently the group is working on wheelchair bags for residents at the Yalobusha General Nursing Home. This group is open and is free to the public. We have material and machines  – we just need you!
The MHV will have their business meeting on Tuesday, October 21 at 9 a.m.  People interested in joining are invited to attend. The program will be held at 11 a.m. at the Adult Day Care Facility in Water Valley. The group will be visiting and playing bingo with the clients.
The MHV is selling $1 raffle tickets for the beautiful landscape painting, painted and donated by Jo Davis. The drawing will be held during the Holiday House on Saturday, October 25. Raffle tickets can be purchased from any MHV member or at the MSU-Extension Office in Coffeeville, where the painting is on display.
The Cloverbuds (ages 5-8) and the Yalobusha Buddies (ages 9-18) will meet on Thursday, October 23. During this meeting we will have a program on Operation Christmas Child and we will be taking up items for the Operation Christmas Child Project.  We will also have a decorated pumpkin contest. All pumpkins should come to the meeting already decorated (please no carving).  Pumpkins will be on display during the Holiday House on October 25.
Grab a couple of friends and join us for a painting class at the Extension Service on Friday, November 7 from 6-8 p.m. Each participate will paint their initials. All supplies will be provided as well as a light meal. Class is limited to 20 adult participants and the registration fee is $20. Class will fill up fast! So call the extension service to register at 675-2730. (Must pay fee to be considered registered for class.)
