Art Talk

By Andi Bedsworth

The holidays are here, and it is time to think about holiday shopping. Main Street is celebrating on Saturday, December 6th with art shows offering something for many people on your lists.
Yalo Studio will be hosting work from Michael Howard for the third year in a row. For the last two years, he has presented a series of multiples which are numbered.
The paintings are all the same and each is a raffle ticket for fabulous prizes. This year’s theme is 99 bottles of Beer on the Wall.  Previous shows featured RC colas and Moonpies and Peaches. These little paintings always sell out, so go to the Yalo Studio Facebook page, call them at 662-801-6253 or email at
The Sweepstakes drawing will occur from 6 to 8 p.m., and you do not need to be present to win.
Bozarts Gallery is hosting their Annual Holiday Miniatures Show which is always popular with art lovers. There will be smaller work this year, than in previous years, and guest artists include newcomers Tiffeny Owens and Dason Pettit. These two painters are accomplished artists in their own right, and the gallery is happy to have them included for this fun show.
There will also be work by alliance members and other guests who have shown in previous years. I will cover these two events further next week, so stay tuned and get Saturday, December 6th marked on your calendar. Bozarts will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. Please note that the festivities will be on a Saturday instead of the traditional Friday night.
