Last week’s Internet Safety and Security class was great!  Roberto Gallardo, an Associate Extension Professor with the MSU Extension Service’s Center for Technology Outreach, and I had a wonderful time teaching our participants how they can keep themselves safe from internet scams and viruses.  We had a very good and educational class that even taught me a thing or two, so thank you Roberto for taking the time to come to Yalobusha County to conduct the class.

The first social media class of 2015 will be held on Thursday, February 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Yalobusha County Multi-Purpose Building. During this class we will learn all about Facebook personal profiles and how we can use these profiles to communicate with friends and family all over the world.

Personal profiles are for non-commercial use and represent individual people. You can follow profiles to see public updates from people you’re interested in but aren’t friends with.  Personal profiles also allow you to customize your page by posting stories, hosting events, adding apps and more.

So grab your computer, iPad, or other device and join us for a class that will surely not disappoint. The class is FREE of charge, but space is limited and you must have your own technology (such as a laptop, iPad, or smart phone).  Please call the Yalobusha County Extension Office at 675-2730, to reserve your seat by Wednesday, February 11.

The next Coffeeville Farmer’s Market will be held on Monday, February 16 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Yalobusha County Multi-Purpose Building.  At this meeting we will elect a Board of Directors for the market, continue working on an estimated market schedule, and discuss other market business.

The meeting is open to anyone who is interested in participating as a vendor or volunteering for the new Coffeeville Farmer’s Market. If you plan to attend the meeting, please contact our office at (662) 675-2730. This will help us estimate how people may be in attendance.  Hope to see you there!
