Interest Meeting Scheduled For Farmer’s Market In Oakland

By Allyson Coleman

There is still time, don’t miss out on on our class Thursday learning how to use Prezi! This class will be fun if you are tired of using the same old power point presentations with the same old graphics and animations?  Prezi is cloud-based, meaning you can present from our browser, desktop, iPad, or iPhone and always have the latest version of your work at your fingertips.

Create or edit on the go, then auto-sync across all your devices. This is a perfect tool to spice up your presentations and give your audience a new and exciting platform for learning.  The Yalobusha County Extension Service scheduled to class, “How to Use Prezi” tomorrow, Thursday, March 19  from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Yalobusha County Multi-Purpose Building.

This program is FREE to the public! Space is limited, please call the Yalobusha County Extension Office at 662-675-2730, to reserve your seat by 5 p.m. today (Wednesday).

There will be an interest meeting held on Thursday, April 2 at 6 p.m. at the old Presbyterian Church in Oakland, next to the Oakland library. The purpose of this meeting is to identify new growers in the community that would like to participate and to bring some of the established growers of the Oakland market together.  We are very interest in making our markets grow, so bring your friends and neighbors and let’s start planning new and great things for 2015. We hope to see you there!

I’m sure you have heard all about this great thing called Pinterest…

But do you really know what it is or how it works?  Well I’m happy to report that the Mississippi State University Extension Office in Yalobusha County will hold a training on Pinterest  at the extension office on Thursday April 9, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.  The training is free to the public, but you are required to bring your own form of technology.  You may bring a laptop, smart phone, or iPad to participate in this training.  This is a great opportunity for crafty, organized, or adventurous individuals to search and save ideas.

Participants will become proficient in the latest Pinterest features, including how it works, what you can use it for (such as: cooking, DIY projects, home décor, style, gardening, and so much more), how it can help improve the organization of your ideas, and more.  We hope you will join us!  Space is limited, please call the Extension Office by Wednesday, April 8th at 5:00 p.m. to register for this training.
