Saturday, May 2

            The fourth annual Eureka Bluegrass Gospel Festival, presented by Bethany Baptist Academy, will be held Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m.-until. The event, which will be held rain or shine, will be on he grounds of Bethany Independent Baptist Church, 4112 Hubbard Road, Courtland (corner of Eureka and Hubbard Rd.) Absolutely no alcohol or drugs will be permitted. Admission is free and Bethel Baptist Academy will be selling food and drinks. Also planned are carnival games, crafts, live and silent auctions. All proceeds will go to Bethany Baptist Academy. Donations will be gladly accepted.

            Sound will be provided by James McPhail. An all gospel jam session, open to everyone. will be held  from 10-11 a.m. and the guests groups will begin singing at 11 a.m. Guest include: The Larry Nelson Family of Clinton, Ark.; The Calvary Strings of Fayetteville, Tenn.; Made By Mercy of Tupelo; The Pilgrim Family of Edinburg; Lost Tyme of Tula; and The Ellis Family from Pope.

 

Sunday, May 3

            The Belle Flower M.B. Church of Grenada will have a youth revival Sunday, May 3, beginning at 6 p.m., and continuing Monday and Tuesday, May 4 and 5, at  7 p.m. Guest speakers will be Rev. Fredrick Tidwell, Jr. of Grenada and Rev. Cordell Fields  of Jackson.

            “Everyone is invited to attend. Come and hear an anointed word from God as our young people praise God through song and dance,” stated Youth Director Stacia Hurd-Jackson.

            Everdale Missionary Baptist Church will be having services at its new location, 599 Wise Street (across from the football field), beginning Sunday, May 3. Sunday School begins at 9:45 and worship service at 11 .m.

            The church family at Everdale Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their 136th church anniversary Sunday, May 3, beginning at 3.m. Pastor Kevin Lee of Hopewell M.B. Church will be the guest speaker. The service will be at the new location, 599 Wise Street (across from the football field).

            “Everyone is cordially invited to attend,” stated Rev.  Phillip Brackett  pastor.

            The church family at New Life Fellowship at Oakland would like for everyone to join them and meet their new pastor, Larry Wicker and his wife, Leslie Wicker, Sunday afternoon, May 3, at 4 p.m.  They will have regular services with refreshments to follow.

            The Wickers are a home grown Mississippi couple that truly loves the Lord and called according to His purpose.

            We are so proud to call them our own, the congregation reported. The church is located at  26601 Hwy 32 Oakland.

 

Thursday, May 7

            The Yalobusha Baptist Association invites you to attend the National Day of Prayer Observance on May 7, beginning at 7 p.m. at Camp Ground Baptist Church. Dr. Brent Barker, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada, will be the guest speaker. Prayers will be lifted up in praise for America. “

            Everyone is invited to attend,” states Bro. Truman Scarborough, AMD for Yalobusha Baptist Association.

 

Saturday, May 16  

            Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, located in Calhoun County, will host The Masters Quartet with Donald Talent, May 16, beginning at 6 p.m. Pastor Justin Gates invites everyone to attend. The church is located four miles west of Bruce on County Road 231, across the railroad on the left. There is a lighted parking area. There is no door charge, but a love offering will be taken.
