Saturday, May 30

            The date for the first Church Fire Conference of Rocky Mountain M.B. Church has been set for May 30, at 11 a.m.          

            The theme of the conference will be “The Power of the Word.” 

            The preachers will be as follows: Pastor George Forrest, Pastor Frank Coffey,  Pastor Jermanique “Nick” Mitchell, Pastor Eric Nelson, Pastor Ralph A. Horton, and Pastor Larry Hervey. For additional info, call Pastor  George E. Forrest at (662) 464-9416.

 

Sunday, May 31

            Homecoming will be held at Sylva Rena Baptist Church on Sunday, May 31. Services will begin at 10 a.m. and Rev. David Roberson will be the guest preacher. Lunch will be served at noon and The Dixie Echoes will begin singing at 1:30 p.m.

            New Life Church, located at 10276 Kennedy Street, Coffeeville, will have their 2nd Annual 100 Women in White Program, Sunday, May 31, beginning at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Evangelist Regina Mosely O’Bryant from Pilgrims Rest Church of God.

 

May 31 – June 4

            An exciting week is planned for boys and girls ages four through high school at this year’s vacation Bible school at First Christian Church in Water Valley. Activities are scheduled  May 31 – June 4 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. we will be going “Backstage With the Bible!” featuring music from the GoFish Guys. Attendees will experience The Doctor’s Office, The Fishin’ Hole, The Garden, The Newspaper Office, and The Courtroom as you learn great Bible stories, make fun crafts, and enjoy delicious refreshments! 

            All are welcome to join us for this great time together.  First Christian Church is located at North Main and South Court Streets, across from the City Park.  For more information call Minister David Freeman at 473-2884. 

            “We look forward to seeing many young people from the Water Valley area this Sunday night!” Freeman reported.

 

June 1-5

            The annual Bethlehem and Community Vacation Bible School will be held Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. nightly.  

            The theme for this year is “Shining Star.” Participating churches, which include Hopewell Baptist, Kingdom Movement, Mt. Grove Baptist, Mt. Zion AME Zion, Oak Hill Baptist, Spring Hill South Baptist and United Baptist, are working together to provide volunteers needed for this week. There is still a need for additional teachers and workers. If you would like to volunteer to help with this event, please call 662-675-2227.

            Organizers also urge everyone to join with them, praying that the Lord will bless this week with successful evangelism and attendance.

 

June 5 – 6

            Camp Ground Baptist Church invites children, ages 4-16, to attend vacation Bible school. The schedule will be as follows: Friday, June 5, 5:30-8 p.m.; Saturday, June 6, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; and Sunday, June 7, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a ceremony at 3 p.m. to conclude VBS. All parents and family are invited.

 

Saturday, June 6

            A singing is scheduled Saturday, June 6, at Hopewell Baptist Church from 6 to 8 p.m. The Trailsmen Quartet and Shirley Berry will perform. A potluck meal for all is scheduled afterwards.

 

Sunday, June 7

            Bethel Baptist Church will host the annual homecoming service Sunday, June 7, starting at 11 a.m. This will be followed by a pot luck lunch. Bro. Owen Riddick will be leading the service. Everyone is invited to worship and fellowship with the Bethel Church family.
