Weekend Activities At VFW Include Friday Bingo, Saturday Dance

Activities for the weekend at VFW Post 4100, located at 11535, west of Water Valley will include bingo on Friday night, October 7. Play will begin at 7 p.m., with the doors opening at 6. Bobby Hood and Sandra Martin will provide music for the regular Saturday night dance on October 8. The music begins at 8 p.m. and concluded at midnight. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy both these events.


Caulder Family Reunion Is Sunday

The annual Calder family reunion will be held Sunday, October 9, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Multi-purpose Building, 18625 Highway 7, Coffeeville. Those attending are asked to bring a dish and serving utensils. The planing committee says, “Hope to see you there!”


Help Solicited For Upkeep At Hopewell Cemetery

Hopewell Cemetery on Country Road 95, Water Valley, would like to enlist the help of families or friends with loved ones buried in the cemetery for any financial help they can give for the care and upkeep of the cemetery for the coming year.

Lions Will Collect Funds For White Cane Project

The Water Valley Lions Club will be collecting funds for the White Cane Project on Friday, October 7 from 2-5 p.m.  Members will be at several intersections in Water Valley and at Piggly Wiggly. These donations will go toward assisting with eyeglasses, and other programs for the blind, including lead dog training, and many more. 

“Please consider any amount an appreciated contribution to this fund raiser and we thank everyone who supports all our projects,” stated Lions’ Club members.


Junior Auxiliary Host  ‘Project Safe Kidz’

Everyone is invited to attend “Project Safe Kidz” on Saturday, October 22, from 3-5 p.m. in the Crawford Sports Complex Parking Lot. All children are welcome and it is absolutely free. There will be finger printing by the Water Valley Police Department (parents must be present during finger printing); Bouncy Houses; Trunk-or-Treating; Face Painting; and Snacks. This event is sponsored by Junior Auxiliary of Water Valley.

 Multiple Groups Will Take The Stage At Gospel Music Jubilee

A Gospel Music Jubilee is scheduled at Gore Springs Community Center October 8, beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is $5. Groups featured include Trailsmen; Glory Road Singers; The Castles; and New Genesis.  There will be a concession stand with hamburgers, hotdogs, sausage dogs, drinks, coffee, popcorn, and homemade desserts. Come out and enjoy a night of good singing.


Blood Drive Will Be Held At Tillatoba Baptist Church

A blood drive is scheduled at the Tillatoba Baptist Church for Destiny Stevens on December 14, from 1-7 p.m. Destiny will have her surgery on December 28.


Arts Council Sets Meeting Date

The Water Valley Arts Council will be having it’s monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Water Valley Main St office, 207 N Main St. You don’t have to be a member to come to the meetings. Order Of Eastern Star Meet Oct. 11

Water Valley Chapter No. 5, Order of the Eastern Star, will have their regular meeting Tuesday, October 11, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. The evening will begin with a pot luck super at 6:30  p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7:30. Members are hereby reminded to please make an effort to attend and support your local chapter..
