Thursday, Oct. 20

Smith Chapel Church of Coffeeville continues to host fall and winter pre-anniversary services on Thursday nights at 7 p.m. Minister Clarence Evans of Poplar Springs Church, Calhoun City, will be the speaker on Thursday, October 20, beginning at 7 p.m. He will be followed by Pastor Larry Mays of Sabougla Church and Red Hill Church of Eupora on Thursday, October 27, also beginning at 7 p.m. 

“We look forward to seeing you at these services,” stated Pastor Richard Smith and the Smith Chapel Church family.

Saturday, Oct. 22

A gospel singing will be held October 22 in Clear Springs Baptist Church beginning at 7 p.m. The guest group this month will be the Pounders family. The church is located at the corner of Gums Crossing Road and CR 186, just outside Coffeeville. For more information contact Michelle Kendall at (662) 230-2349.

The Trailsmen will sing at Camp Ground Baptist Church October 22, beginning at 6 p.m. Finger foods will be served afterwards

Sunday, Oct. 23

The fourth Pastor/Wife’s Love Day will be held at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church on October 23, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Kevin D. Lee, Sr. is pastor of the church. Pastor Phillip  Brackett and the Everdale M.B. Church family of Water Valley will be special guests. Sunday School begins a 8:45 a.m., with regular worship service at 10 a.m.  

The morning message will be by Minister Tommie Turner of Greater Sanders Chapel M.B. Church and he will be accompanied by his church family.

The pastor and members of Oak Grove C.M.E. Church cordially invite the public to worship with them during the Harvest Day Program, scheduled Sunday, October 23, at 2:30 p.m. 

The speaker for the afternoon will be Rev. Gregory Wilson along with the Mt. Grove Church family of Coffeeville.

Oct. 24-28

The Rocky Mountain M. B. Church family will host their fall revival, “an Old Time Revival,” starting Monday, October 24, and continuing through Friday, the 28th, beginning nightly at 7 p.m. Rev. George Forrest, pastor of the church, will be the speaker. “Looking forward to seeing you there,” stated Pastor Forrest and the church family.

Oct. 25-27

The men of Moriah District Association will have a Mens’ Conference from October 25-27. There will be workshops from 6 to 6:45 each evening and at 7 p.m. there will be an evening message. Everyone is invited to attend, especially young men. Workshop instructors will be:  October 25, Rev. Lindell Glaspies; October 26, Deacon Elzie Morgan; and October 27, Pastor Calvin Hawkins. Bringing the  messages will be: October 25, Pastor Melvin Montgomery;  October 26, Pastor Clarence Buchanan; and October 27, Pastor Anthony Edwards. Moderator is Larry J. Hervey, Deacon President is Clayton Horton, and Director of the Mens Department is Pastor Anthony Edwards.

Wednesday, Oct. 26

Water Valley First Baptist Church will have Trunk or Treat Wednesday,  October 26, from 5-7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out for a night of food, candy, fellowship, and fun!

Saturday, Oct. 29

Oakland Baptist Church will have a Harvest Festival Saturday, October 29, from 2-4  p.m. for children 12 and under. There will be games and  activities including a large inflatable bounce house in the parking lot.

The church family at Hopewell Baptist Church, located on CR 95, will celebrate October Fest on October 29, beginning at 6 p.m.  There will be hamburgers and hot dogs to enjoy. A costume contest (bought or homemade) will be held and a non-carved pumpkin decorating contest, with trophies. A sing-a-long hayride will end the night. The members of the church hope to see you there.
