VFW Schedules Weekend Activities
Activities for the weekend at VFW Post 4100, located at 11535, west of Water Valley will include bingo on Friday night, October 28 starting at 7 p.m. Bobby Hood and Sandra Martin will take the stage Saturday night for the dance. The music starts at 8 p.m. There will also be a Halloween costume contest at the dance. You must be at least 18 years old to enter the contest and no clown costumes will be admitted.
Ambassadors Meet Tuesday
The Water Valley Ambassadors will meet at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, in the Chamber office. The speaker will be Kim Pullen, who will share news of the plans at Yalobusha General Hospital.
Blackmur Library Will Have Christmas Tree Decorating Party
Blackmur Memorial Library will have its Charlie Brown Christmas Tree decorating party Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 4-5 p.m. Parents are invited to bring their kids to the library to help decorate the Christmas tree. Garden Club Of WV Sponsors ‘Day In The Park’
The Garden Club of Water Valley is sponsoring “Day in the Park” for children, ages 6 -12, on Saturday, October 29, from 9-11 a.m. Soap Carving pumpkins will be the craft for the day, with Tammy Jackson from Bruce, as the instructor.
Halloween Activities Planned At Cossar
Halloween activities at Cossar State Park on Saturday, October 29, will include a costumes contest, with prizes for the winners, trick or treat in the camp ground, Halloween games and a cake walk. Campers are encouraged to decorate their camp sties. The fun starts at 7 p.m. with food and drinks. Trick or treating starts at 5:30
It’s Haunted Hollow Time At Pine Valley
The Pine Valley Fire Department, located at the corner of Hwy. 32 and CR 212, Water Valley, will have their annual Haunted Hollow Friday, October 28, and Saturday, October 29, from 7 p.m. until midnight each night. Admission will be $7 per person. All children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be available both nights from 7 p.m. until. Money raised will help provide the necessary equipment for the fire department. Pine Valley Fire Department will not be responsible for any accidents due to neglect. No alcohol, no firearms and no pets will be allowed.
Halloween Carnival Planned At Sylva Rena Community Center
The Sylva Rena Community Center will host a Halloween carnival Saturday, October 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. A variety of refreshments will be available, including hamburg plates with hamburgers, chips, baked beans, and drinks. There will be a costume contest for all ages. Come and join the fun with cake walks, bingo and games. The raffle will be for two prizes, which include a $100 cash and a $50 Piggly Wiggly grocery card.
