Living Well In Yalobusha County

The Crochet MHV Club will meet Thursday, November 3 at 10 a.m. at the Extension Office.

Our Healthy You exercise classes are free and continue to meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 until 9:45 a.m.  Make sure to wear cool, comfortable clothes, good walking shoes and bring some water to drink. The nurse will be here on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 8:45 to 9 a.m. to take glucose and blood pressure readings and all Healthy You Exercise Participants are encouraged to come and take advantage of this free service. 

The Sewing for Service group will meet on Monday, November 7, at 10 a.m.  They will continue working on the Christmas bags for Blair Batson Children’s Hospital. We have all the supplies, we just need people to help sew.  We hope you will join us!

The Evening Create MHV Club will meet on Thursday, November 10, at 6 p.m. at the Extension Office, located inside the Multi-Purpose Building. Janet Caulder will be the project leader and participants will make a burlap monogram. Supplies needed include a sharpie, burlap (1/2 yard), canvas, ribbon (for hanging) and staples.

The United Y.C. MHV will once again be offering Renasant Bank’s preview of the 2017 Travel programs at the Extension Office located inside the Multi-Purpose building on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Ann McMillian will be here to tell about the upcoming programs and the bank will have refreshments immediately following. The public is invited.

Grab a couple of friends and join us on Friday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. for a canvas painting workshop.   All supplies will be provided as well as a light meal. The class is limited to 20 adult participants and the registration fee is $25. Call the Extension office to register at 675-2730. A ServSafe food safety certification Class will be taught December 13 and 14, beginning at 9 a.m. on both days. The certification exam will begin around 3 p.m. on the 14th and should be completed by 5 p.m.  The class will be held at the MSU Extension Service Grenada County.  The cost of the course is $140. The deadline to register is November 14.
