It’s Time To Order Your 2016-17 School Annual

The 2016-17 Water Valley High School Valley Views annuals are currently on sale at a promotional cost of $45. Beginning in March the price will increase to $55, so reserve your annual now. The annuals are usually completed and shipped by mid-August.

Lions Club Members Are Taking Orders For Cheese, Chocolate Pecans 

The Water Valley Lions Club has  12 ounce pecan halves (plain), and 12 ounce chocolate covered pecans available for $10 per bag. They will also be taking Christmas cheese orders. All orders need to be placed by December 11. Please include payment with orders. Contact any Lion member for order blanks or  pecans.

Christmas Crafts Program Offered At Oakland Library

A Christmas crafts program will be presented by Marilyn Haymes, featuring Burlap Snowmen, Wednesday, December 7, beginning at 3  p.m. in the Oakland Public Library. There will be door prizes and refreshments.

Oakland Christmas Parade Scheduled December 10

The Town of Oakland’s Christmas parade will be held Saturday, December 10, beginning at 3:30 p.m. If you are interested in participating in the parade contact Sharonda Jones at (662) 589-0040, or Vera Walls at (662) 709-0440. There is  no entry fee. The lineup will be at Town Hall, located at 13863 Hickory Street.

Valley City Lodge Meets Thursday

Valley City Lodge No. 402 will hold it’s next stated communication on Thursday, December 1, at the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle beginning at 7 p.m. All members are reminded to attend and support your local lodge.

No Bingo At The VFW Friday, Saturday Night Dance Is Scheduled

Bingo will not be played at VFW Post 4100, located at 11535, west of Water Valley beginning December 2 and continuing until the announced reopening in a few weeks. 

The regular Saturday night dance will be held, as usual, on December 3. Providing music for the dance will be Bobby Hood and Sandra Martin. The music begins at 8 p.m. and concludes at midnight. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy dancing, the music, or just some good fellowship.

Chamber Ambassadors Will Install  Officers During Dec. 6 Meeting

The annual Christmas breakfast of the Chamber Ambassadors will be held at the Railroad Depot at 7:00 a.m.  on Tuesday, December 6. New officers for the coming year will be installed. All members are encouraged to attend.
