Blue Devils And Lady Devils Suffer Losses

CHARLESTON –  The Water Valley Blue Devils(2-4) basketball team took on the Charleston Tigers(1-7) last Friday night. The Blue Devils held a narrow 35-31 lead at the half over their division rivals. However, the Tigers outscored the Blue Devils by 8 points in the second half to pull out a 79-75 victory. The loss dropped the Blue Devils to (2-3) on the young season. 

Following the loss, the Blue Devils traveled to Coffeeville to face county rivals the Coffeeville Pirates on Saturday night. The Blue Devils have struggled to compete with the Pirates in past seasons, they were more competitive in this contest but the Pirates were able to pull away for a 91-68 win over Water Valley. The loss dropped the Blue Devils to (2-4) on the season. Water Valley will be back in action on Friday, December 16th when they host the North Panola Cougars. 


Lady Devils

The Lady Devils returned to action as they took on the McAdams Lady Bulldogs last Thursday night. The Lady Bulldogs were able to pull away from the Blue Devils en route to a 54-21 win. The loss dropped Water Valley to (1-4) on the season. The Lady Devils will return to action on December 20th as they travel to take on the Lewisburg Lady Patriots.
