The First Assembly of God of Water Valley will be performing their Christmas Musical, “Adore,” Saturday, December 17, at 7 p.m., and Sunday morning, December 18, at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to come out and observe and celebrate the birth of Jesus through music.
Sunday, Dec. 18
On Sunday, December 18, New Life Fellowship Church near Oakland will serve a free Christmas lunch at the church. The meal includes soup/chili, sandwiches, dessert and drinks and everyone is invited.
Also services are scheduled at the church at 11 a.m. on Christmas morning. Beginning December 14th there will be no Wednesday evening service. Beginning Sunday, January 1, 2017 the service schedule changes to one worship service on Sundays for all those folks who like to sleep late and don’t quite make it to morning worship. The service is scheduled at 3 p.m., with Sunday School at 2 p.m.
The Sanctuary Choir of First United Methodist Church, Water Valley, will present a special service of Music and the Spoken Word, December 18, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The service will feature many of your favorite holiday hymns and musical meditations, paired with scripture and readings.
“This will be a special service that will allow us to pause and reflect during this busy time,” stated Rev. Allen McGraw, pastor. Everyone is invited to attend.
Woodland Hills Baptist Church will present their annual Musical Christmas Program during the regular morning worship service, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on December 18. The program will consist of choir specials, with narration and congregational singing. The choir is under the direction of Travis York, organist is Barbara Warren and pianist is Sammie Cobern. Narrators will be Judy Miller, Randy Goodwin, and Lynn Warren.

Tuesday, Dec. 20
The hand bell choir, Bells of Joy, from First Christian Church, cordially invites you to their Christmas Concert at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, in First Christian Church, Water Valley. A medley of beautiful Christmas carols will be presented by their Two Octave and Five Octave Choirs. The choir is under the direction of Gail Herrera and choir members are Starr Guest, Lou Ann Holt, Deniece Fowler, Lexi Fowler, Kevin Herrera, Hannah Higdon, Margaret Higdon, Teri Rounsaville, Alycia (A.J.) Hughes, Carol Brown, Cheryl Hughes, Lorraine Stark, Genna Berry, and Tonia Bailey.
Sunday, Dec. 25
On Christmas Day Wood-land Hills Baptist Church will have only one service. There will be no Sunday School, and the morning worship service will begin at 10 a.m (not the usual 10:30) and will last only 30 to 45 minutes. There will be music and a short devotional by Rev. Lynn Jones, pastor. “Everyone is invited to attend this special Christmas worship program,” stated Bro. Jones.
Saturday, Dec. 31
A watch night service is scheduled Saturday, December 31, from 8 p.m. until midnight, at Clear Springs Baptist Church. The special guest groups for this service will be The Canaanlanders from Oxford and David McMillen from New Albany, as well as others. Come help us sing the old year out and the new year in. The church is located at the corner of Gums Crossing Road and County Road 186, just outside Coffeeville.

Sunday, Jan. 1
The Pleasant Hill Mission-ary Baptist Church family in Tilllatoba will have their second anniversary for Pastor Louis J. Cotton and Yolanda Cotton on January 1, beginning at 3 p.m. Guest speaker for the evening will be Pastor Larry Hervey from Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Everyone is invited to attend.
