School Board Sets Meeting Date
The Water Valley School board meeting will be held Monday, December 19, in the Water Valley Central Office, beginning at 6:30 p.m. This is a public meeting and everyone is invited to attend.
YHS Schedules Christmas Music Program At Monthly Meeting
The Yalobusha Historical Society will meet Thursday, December 15, at 2 p.m. in its headquarters the former Coffeeville Presbyterian Church. YHS member Wyomman Reeves and John Goldwater, pastor of Christ Community Church in Grenada, will present Christmas music. Refreshments will be served afterwards. Visitors are welcome.
Homebuyer Education Class Offered At Extension Service
A homebuyer education class is scheduled at the Yalobusha County Extension Building on Thursday, January 26, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. This certified program will allow homebuyers to receive a certificate for credit toward various potential home buying loan agencies. Lunch will not be provided at the class; however, participants will take lunch from 12-1 p.m. There will be a $50 dollar fee for the class. Payments may be received through money order only. To receive a registration form for this course, please contact Allyson Coleman @ 662-675-2730. Participants must register by Tuesday, January 17th at 5 p.m.
Food Safety Certification Class Offered January 24
ServSafe Food Certification Class will be taught January 24, beginning at 7:30 a.m. The certification exam will begin around 4 p.m. and should be completed by 6 p.m. The class will be held at the Yalobusha County Extension Office in Coffeeville. The cost of the course is $140 and the deadline to register is December 16. Call Pamela Redwine at the Extension Office at 662-675-2730 for additional details and to register. Saturday Night Dance Planned At VFW
Bingo is still not being played at VFW Post 4100, located at 11535, west of Water Valley. Announcement will be made when Bingo returns in a few weeks.
The regular Saturday night dance will be held, as usual, on December 17. Providing music for the dance will be Bobby Hood and Prime Country. The music begins at 8 p.m. and concludes at midnight. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy dancing, the music, or just some good fellowship.
