Wednesday, Dec. 29

The schedule for services at Woodland Hills Baptist Church this week will be as follows. On Wednesday night, December 29, there will be no prayer meeting service. The church will also not have a New Year’s Eve watch night service this year. The Sunday services on New Year’s Day will begin with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., followed by the regular worship service at 10:30. Then on Sunday night there will be no discipleship training or worship service. The regular order of worship will resume in the first week of the New Year.

Saturday, Dec. 31

A watch night service is scheduled Saturday, December 31, from 8 p.m. until midnight, at Clear Springs Baptist Church. The special guest groups for this service  will be The Canaanlanders from Oxford and David McMillen from New Albany, as well as others. Come help us sing the old year out and the new year in. The church is located at the corner of Gums Crossing Road and County Road 186,  just outside Coffeeville.

A love offering will be taken and refreshments will be served. For more information contact Michelle Kendall at (662) 230-2349. 


Pine Grove West MB Church will have a worship service, beginning at 9 p.m., on New Year’s night. The speakers will be pastor of the church, Rev. Cleveland Alexander, and evangelist Pamlia Pomlee. 


The church family at Rocky Mt. M.B. Church will be celebrating the old year out and the new year in during a Watch Meeting Service on Saturday evening, December 31, in the church, located at 1339 CR 92, Water Valley. The activities will begin with a Chew and Chat Breakfast at 9 p.m., followed by the Watch Meeting service at 10 p.m. Rev. Larry Hervey, Moderator of the Mt. Moriah District Association and Pastor of Pleasant Grove M.B. Church, Coffeeville, and Hurley Chapel M.B. Church, Grenada will be guest speaker. 

“This is a time when communities come together and give thanks and praise to God for all His blessings and ask for His guidance and blessings for the New Year,” reports Pastor George Forrest.

Sunday, January 8

The Spring Hill North Church family is celebrating their annual Men’s Day Program Sunday, January 8, beginning at 3 p.m. The guest speaker for the afternoon will be Rev. Johnteris Tate, pastor of First Thessalonia Baptist Church in Memphis.

“We are looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our God and Savior Jesus Christ. Everyone is invited to attend,” stated Rev. Sammy Townes, pastor.
