Water Valley School Board Meeting Scheduled January 9

A Water Valley school board meeting will be held Monday, January 9, in the Water Valley School Central Office at 6:30 p.m. This is a public meeting and everyone is invited to attend.

 Saturday Night Dance Planned At VFW

  The regular Saturday night VFW dance will be held on January 7 from 8 until midnight in VFW Post 4100’s Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. Providing the music will be Bobby Hood and Sandra Martin. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy dancing, some good music, or just some great fellowship.

  Friday night bingo is still not being played at the VFW Post Home.

Local Order Easter Star Chapter Members Will Meet Jan. 10

Water Valley Chapter No. 5 Order of the Eastern Star will have their regular meeting on Tuesday, January 10, at the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle beginning with a pot luck supper at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will begin at 7:30. Members are hereby reminded to please make an effort to attend and support your local Chapter during this new year.

Officers Will Be Installed  At Lodge 402 Meeting 

Valley City Lodge No. 402 will hold it’s next stated communication on Thursday, January 5, at the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle beginning with a pot luck dinner at 6 p.m. followed by an open installation of new lodge officers at 7 p.m.  Family and friends are invited. All members are reminded to attend and support your local lodge.

Membership Recruitment Among Topics At Arts Council Meeting

The Water Valley Arts Council will have a monthly meeting on Tuesday, January 10, at 6:30 p.m., at the Water Valley Main Street Association office located at 207 North Main Street. Topics for discussion include the Arts Council event calendar and membership recruitment.  You do not have to be a member to attend the meetings. Come be a part of the WVAC. Deadline Is Jan. 17 To Register For Homebuyer Education Class 

A homebuyer education class is scheduled at the Yalobusha County Extension Building on Thursday, January 26, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.  This certified program will allow homebuyers to receive a certificate for credit toward various potential home buying loan agencies.  

Lunch will not be provided at the class; however, participants will take lunch from 12-1 p.m.  There will be a $50 dollar fee for the class.  Payments may be received through money order only.  To receive a registration form for this course, please contact Allyson Coleman at 662-675-2730.  Participants must register by Tuesday, January 17 at 5 p.m.
