Lady Devils, Blue Devils Struggle At Home

WATER VALLEY – The Blue Devils hosted the Montgomery County Hornets on January 10, but were unable to come up with a victory. The final score was 81-68, moving the team to a 3-8 record on the season.

The boys’ team returned to action on January 13, hosting rival Charleston Tigers (4-13) for a division contest. The Blue Devils fell to the Tigers 79-75 in a hard fought contest that the home team let slip away in the second half. This meeting between division rivals was an exact replica of the the first meeting. The loss dropped the Blue Devils to (3-9) (0-3) on the season. The Water Valley Blue Devils will be back in action on January 20, as they host the Independence Wildcats(8-11) (3-1) for a division matchup.

           

 LADY DEVILS 

The Lady Devils returned to action as they traveled to Olive Branch on January 9th to take on the Lewisburg Patriots in a non-division matchup. This was the second meeting between the teams this season, with the Lady Patriots earning a victory with a final score of 46.17.

The second meeting between the teams was a lot more competitive, but the Lady Patriots were victorious again. In this contest, the Lady Devils kept this one a lot closer, falling by a final score of 54-35. The loss dropped the Lady Devils to (1-6) on the season. Thirty-five points was the most points the Lady Devils have scored in a game this season. 

Water Valley will be back in action on January 20th as they host the Independence Lady Wild-cats in a division matchup.
