Saturday, March 4

The Ladies Group of Woodland Hills Baptist Church will have a craft program Saturday, March 4, beginning at 10 a.m. At this time the ladies will create a button tree, on canvas. At the conclusion of the program there will be a finger food fellowship. Ladies are invited to attend, bring buttons if you have them, and food to share if you would like. The program is under the direction of Sylvia Beene, a master crafter.


The church family at Mt. Liberty Church will serve plate lunches on March 4, starting at noon and continuing all day (until the last person is served). Plates for this fundraiser are $10 each and must be ordered in advance. Boston butts will also be sold. There will also be a cake auction. Please place orders in advance so we will know how much to cook. To place orders call (662) 832-7018.


Hopewell Baptist Church invites everyone to come out Saturday, March 4, at 6 p.m. for great gospel signing. Performing will be the Ellis Family and Shirley Berry for half-time. The church is located on County Road 95.

Sunday, March 5

United Missionary Baptist Church will host a Black History Program March 5, beginning at 2:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Donald Smith, a native of Coffeeville, son of the late Clemmi and Clara Smith. “The public is invited to attend this special program,” stated Rev. Calvin Hawkins, pastor.


The church family at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Coffeeville will celebrate Rev. Larry Hervey’s seventh anniversary on  Sunday, March 5. Minister T. K. Townsend will delver the morning message at 8 a.m. The evening service, with Rev. Sammie Blake of Burning Bush M.B. Church of Grenada, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be served before the 2:30 celebration. The program is sponsored by the Pastor’s Aid Ministry.

Sunday, March 12

The Green Goshen C.M.E. Church family will host their annual Family and Friends Day Program March 12, beginning at 3 p.m. The speaker for the occasion will be Rev. Michael Phillips of Oak Grove C.M.E. Church of Water Valley. Lunch will be served. The members of Green Goshen are asking everyone who can to come out and join them for this program.

Wed., March 15

All interested  persons, retired persons and seniors at home are invited to gather at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday, March 15, beginning at 10 a.m. for fun, fellowship, spiritual food, and food to eat. There will be games, puzzles, food, and Bible  study. Everyone is welcome. Sister Mamie H. Shields and Sister Mary Tower are the leaders and Rev. Larry W. Ware is pastor.

Sunday, March 19

The public is invited to Zion Grove M.B. Church located at 2441 County Road 471, Coffeeville, for the Annual Family and Friends Day Program Sunday, March 19, at 2:30 p.m. Services will begin with Sunday School at 10 a.m., followed by worship service at 11 a.m. The morning message will be delivered by pastor Otha Coffey. The Family and Friends Program will begin at 2:30 p.m. and the message will be delivered by Pastor Calvin Hawkins, United M.B. Church, Coffeeville. Dinner will be served following morning worship.
