Parent Night For  Kindergarten Students Is April 4

Kindergarten Parent Night is Scheduled on Tuesday, April 4, at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Davidson Elementary School. School officials will discuss the final MKAS test scheduled in April and information for future kindergarten students. 

Town And Country Garden Club Plans Spring Cleaning

The Water Valley Town and Country Garden Club is hopping in to help you spruce your home up for spring. Clean up and dump your trash in the dumpster, provided by the City of Water Valley at City Hall on April 8th.

“Please help  make our town more beautiful by cleaning up around your home and street.,” urges T&C Garden Club members. Just place your trash by the curb and the City of Water Valley has graciously volunteered to pick it up for you.

Reception For Gurner’s  ‘On The Street’ Is April 7

Bozarts Gallery will host an opening reception Friday, April 7, for “On The Street,” a show of Memphis photographs from the late 1970s and early 1980s. The event will run from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the gallery located on Main Street in Water Valley. The images are from the collection of former Memphis photographer Jack Gurner, who was a photojournalist for the Memphis Press-Scimitar and graphics editor at the Memphis Business Journal. The photographs will be on display during April through June.

Weekend Events At VFW Include Friday Bingo, Saturday Dance

Events at VFW Post 4100 will begin this week with Bingo, held Friday, March 31. The doors will open at 5, sales begin at 6, and games start at 7. Providing music for the regular Saturday night dance on April 1 will be Prime Country. The music begins at 8 p.m. and concludes at midnight. Everyone is invited to attend these events, which are held in Post 4100’s Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley.

County’s Democrats Plan Spring Meeting On April 1 

The Democratic Party Committee of Yalobusha County will  have their spring annual meeting on Saturday, April 1, beginning at 10 a.m. The  meeting will be held in the Oakland Town Hall and everyone interested is invited to attend.

Annual Charity Ball Is April 22

Junior Auxiliary of Water Valley’s fifth annual Charity Event will be held Saturday, April 22, in Bozarts Art Gallery on Main Street. The cost of the event will be $30 for one or $50 for two. The ball will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. There will be a silent auction, food, music/entertainment, photo booth, and much more. Tickets can be purchased from any JA member or from Bozarts Art Gallery. 

“Please come and support our charity event. All proceeds will benefit the children in Water Valley. We look forward to seeing each of you there,” stated Vickie Person 

 Arts Council Seeks Artists For Bank Display

The Water Valley Arts Council  is looking for artists to exhibit their work at Renasant Bank in mediums of Painting, Photography, Drawing, Collage and 2D mixed media work.  All work must be framed and ready to hang with proper wires for hanging.  There is no charge to the artist. All sales go to the artist.
