INDEPENDENCE- The Water Valley Blue Devils (5-11) (1-1) traveled to Independence on March 28th to take on the Independence Wildcats in a division matchup.

The Blue Devils’ offense produced 11 hits and 7 runs to defeat their division rivals, 7-4. Martavi Rockette led the Blue Devils with three hits and Taylor Dean and Dre McCray both added two hits. The win improved Water Valley.

Following the big win, the Blue Devils hosted the Independence Wildcats in the second matchup between the two teams, and a Water Valley win could all but secured 1st place in the division.

Unlike the first game, Water Valley was unable to get their offense rolling. Independence held the Blue Devils scoreless, and plated three runs to earn the 3-0 win.

Water Valley will be back in action on April 7th as they host the Charleston Tigers.
