June 8-9

Gatewood Church of God, located at 2168 CR 211, Coffeeville, will have a yard sale Thursday and Friday, June 8 and 9, at the church, starting at 8 a.m. Available will be household and decorative items, plus much more. Donations are also welcome. For more information call (662) 473-7322.


Sunday, June 11

Youth Day will be celebrated at Pleasant Grove Church on June 11, during morning worship service at 8 a.m. All youth and young adults are welcome, as well as everyone else. 

“Your presence will be a blessing and you will be blessed,” stated the Youth Leadership Team and Host Pastor Larry Hervey.

Youth Sunday will be held at Bayson Chapel M.B. Church Sunday, June 11, beginning at 11 a.m. The program will feature Drs. Adrian and Crystal Singleton from Now U Know Life Church in Katy, Texas. The program will be “Kingdom Builders: Living for the King,” with scripture reference Matthew  6:33, “But seek first the  kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”


June 11-15

Come one, come all to the ultimate victory pep rally being held at First Christian Church in Water Valley! Join us for our Vacation Bible School, June 11-15, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.  This is for all youth ages four through high school!  There will be exciting Bible stories, uplifting praise songs, delicious refreshments, fun games, and challenging crafts.  You will learn about the Courage of Joshua, the Obedience of Gideon, the Faith of David, Unity in the story of Esther, and of course, our Victory in Jesus!  Vacation Bible School is always an exciting time at First Christian Church and this year will be no exception.  

The church building is located on the corner of North Main at South Court Street in Water Valley. If you have any questions please call the church office at 473-2884.  


Saturday, June 17

Betty Reed White, wife of Fred White, of Water Valley, will preach her trial sermon in Mt.  Zion A.M.E. Church, Coffeeville, June 17, beginning at 6 p.m. 

“Everyone is invited to come out and support Mrs. White during her first sermon,” stated Dr. Moses E. Thompson, pastor.


Sunday, June 18

The church family at Zion Grove M. B. Church, located at 2441 CR 471, Coffeeville, will host their annual Father’s Day Program Sunday, June 18, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Services will begin with Sunday School at 10 a.m., followed by worship at 11. The morning sermon will be delivered by Pastor Otha Coffey.The Father’s Day Program message will be delivered by Pastor Carl Ray of Mount Olive M.B.Church in Tillatoba. The Zion Grove Church family invites everyone to participate in this occasion. 

Dinner will be served following the morning worship service.

Sunday, June 18

Mt. Grove M.B. Church will host its annual Father’s/ Deacon’s Day Program on Sunday, June 18, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Darrell Booker of St. John’s Baptist Church, Charleston, will be the guest speaker. The Scuna Valley Male  Chorus will render musical selections. Lunch will be served immediately following the morning worship service. “Everyone is cordially invited to join us as we pay tribute to our fathers and deacons,” stated Rev. Gregory Wilson, pastor.


Saturday, June 24

A gospel singing is scheduled June 24 at Clear Springs Baptist Church, beginning at 7 p.m. The guest group this month will be The Masters Quartet. The church is located at the corner of Gums Crossing Road and CR 186 just outside Coffeeville.

A love offering will be taken and a refreshments will be served.  We invite everyone to come out and worship with us.  For more information contact Michelle Kendall at 662-230-2349.


June 23-25

The public is invited to attend the annual meeting at Yalobusha Primitive  Baptist Church, Water Valley, the fourth weekend in June (June 23-24-25). The service Friday night, June 23, begins at 7 p.m. Saturday morning the service will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch, and there will be no afternoon services. Elder James Hall will minister on Sunday morning, June 25, beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch. Elder Calvin Warren is the invited mister. Elder James Hall is pastor of Yalobusha Primitive Baptist Church.
