Gospel Music Festival Planned At Pine Valley School

A gospel music festival will be held in the Pine Valley School, located at 4490 Highway 32, Water Valley, beginning at 6 pm. on Saturday, August 26. Singing will be Larry Kilgore from Crowder, The Rowe Family from Charleston, and “Boundless Love” from Cleveland. There will be a concession stand with hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks, and homemade desserts. The public is invited to come out and enjoy a night of good gospel music and support the Old Pine Valley School and the Pine Valley Volunteer Fire Department.


York Rite Bodies Meet Thursday

Water Valley York Rite bodies will have their monthly meetings on Thursday, August 24, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. A meal will follow the meeting and all members are reminded to attend.


VFW Schedules Friday Bingo, Saturday Night Dance

Events at VFW Post 4100 this weekend begin with Bingo on Friday night, August 25. Sales begin at 6 p.m. and the games start at 7 p.m. The regular Saturday Night Dance on August 26 begins at 8 p.m. and concludes at midnight. Doors open at 5:30. Providing the music will be Bobby Hood. Both events will be held in VFW Post 4100’s Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. Everyone is invited to attend.


The Pickin’ Shed Announces Weekend Live Music Schedule

The Pickin’ Shed will have live music Friday night, August 25 at 7 p.m.  The Ellis Family from Pope, Bro. Jim Pinkerton and  Beverly Brewer from Harmontown, The House Band, and other local talent will be providing the  music. The action continues Saturday night with karaoke at 7 p.m. Singers are invited. A potluck meal is scheduled at 6 p.m. both nights so bring your favorite dish and come join in the fellowship. Donations accepted on Friday night and there is a $5 cover charge Saturday night. Alcohol is prohibited.


Head Start Hosts Open House

An open house is scheduled at the Water Valley Head Start Center on Friday, August 25, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Parents are urged to come  out and meet the teachers.
