December 17, 2017, marks the end of an era for Jumpers Chapel Congregational Methodist Church. Rev. Joel Jones has been the dedicated and loving pastor for the last 32 years. He and his wife, Lorene, have been faithful servants of the Lord and have been extraordinary spiritual elders of the congregation at Jumpers Chapel. The retirement ceremony will be held during regular morning worship services on Dec. 17, at 11 a.m. Afterwards a celebratory feast will take place in the fellowship hall.

The Chancel Choir of First United Methodist Church will present a collection of meaningful anthems on Dec. 17, beginning at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary. This service of music and the spoken word will feature the Chancel Choir, along with guest musicians, as they share a musical reflection interspersed with scriptural readings. The program will be under the direction of Eric Johnson, Minister of Music.
Moderator Rev. Larry Hervey reminds all ushers in the district that the Mt. Moriah Usher Federation will meet in the district building at Coffeeville on Sunday, Dec. 17, beginning at 3 p.m. Deacon Reginald Baskin is president of the Usher Federation.
Oak Grove C.M.E. Church of Water Valley will have a Youth Gospel Explosion Program on Dec. 17, beginning at 3 p.m. The special guests for this program will be Ashley and Chelsey Barnes of Grenada and Allyson Thompson of Oxford. Everyone is invited to come and help make this program a success.

United M.B. Church will have their Christmas Program Dec. 24, beginning at 10 a.m.
