Weekend Events At VFW Include Friday Bingo, Saturday Dance

Events at VFW Post 4100 this weekend begin with bingo on Friday night, December 15. Sales begin at 6 p.m. and the games start at 7 p.m. The regular Saturday night dance on December 16 begins at 8 p.m. and concludes at midnight. The Delta Rockers will provide the music and there is a $10 cover charge.  The doors open at 6.  Both events will be held in VFW Post 4100’s Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. Everyone is invited to attend.

School Board Meeting Is Dec. 18

The Water Valley School District Board of Trustees have scheduled a school board meeting on Monday, Dec. 18, in the central office. The public is invited to attend.

Deadline To Register For ServSafe Class Is Jan. 5

ServSafe Food Certification Class will be taught January 30 and 31 beginning at 9 a.m. on both days. The certification exam will begin around 3 p.m. on the 31st and should be completed by 5 p.m.  The class will be held at the MSU Extension Service in Grenada County and the cost of the course is $140.  

The deadline to register is January 5.  Call Pamela Redwine at the MSU Extension Office Yalobusha County at 662-675-2730 for additional details and to register.  

Private Applicators Training Is Scheduled Dec. 18

A Private Applicators training is scheduled on Dec. 18 at the Multi-purpose Building in Coffeeville. Private applicator certification is a legal requirement for anyone using restricted-use pesticides in any situation, as well as for those individuals who apply general-use products in a commercial situation. The class will start at 1 p.m. and costs $20.

Yalobusha Historical Society  Sets Date For Christmas Program

The Yalobusha Historical Society will meet Thursday  December 21, at 2 p.m. in its headquarters the former Coffeeville Presbyterian Church.  Brother Larry Kilgore will present a program of Christmas music.  Refreshments will be served afterwards. Visitors are welcome.

Final CommUNITY Prayer Rally Is Scheduled Dec. 17 

The final CommUNITY Prayer Rally of 2017 will be held on Monday, December 18th at 7 p.m. in the Mechanics Bank Community Room located on Main St in Water Valley.

Special prayer will be focused on the mayoral election which will be held the following day the 19. Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in what God is doing in our community.
