Extension Service Hosts Series On Vegetable Gardening
The Yalobusha County Extension Service will host a series on vegetable gardening at the multi-purpose building in Coffeeville on April 23rd, May 3rd, and May 11th. The classes will be held at 6 p.m. and will cover topics of site selection, variety selection, soil testing, best management practices, chemical use, vegetable processing and much more. Democratic Party Seeks People Interesting In Joining Committee
The Democratic Party is looking for persons from Tillatoba, Coffeeville, and Water Valley interested in joining the Executive Democratic Party Committee. A meeting will be held Saturday, May 5, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Water Valley Courthouse. Refreshments will be served.
Bobby Hood Band Will Take The Stage Saturday At The VFW
The regular Saturday night dance on May 5 begins at 8 p.m. and concludes at midnight. Providing the music will be the Bobby Hood Band, and there is a $10 cover charge. The doors open at 6. The dance will be held in VFW Post 4100’s Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. Everyone is invited to attend.
Lions Club Announces Monthly Pancake Breakfast
The Water Valley Lions Club will host their regular first Saturday pancake breakfast on May 5, from 6:30-9 a.m. For only $5 you may eat all you care to of pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice. At this time the delicious Lions’ cheese will be for sale. Also available will be pecans for $10 per pound bag.
Lions Club Plans Drawing For Gas Grill
The Water Valley Lions Club will have a drawing for a stainless steel 36 inch, 4-burner, gas grill with a griddle drawer to be given away at the Watermelon Carnival. Tickets will be $2 for one, or thee for $5. See any Lions Club member to purchase tickets.
Arts Council Schedules Meeting
The Water Valley Arts Council will have their next meeting on Tuesday, May 8, at 6:30 pm. at the Water Valley Main St. Assn. office (207 N Main Street). You don’t have to be a member to come to the meetings and ALL are welcome. Topics for discussion include this year’s 10th Art Crawl in the fall.
