Kyle’s News and Reviews

The Extension Service Holiday House was this past Saturday at the Multi-purpose building in Coffeeville and appeared to be a great success.  We had a kid-zone out on the arena floor to potentially recruit some new 4-H kids.

The main attraction for the kid-zone was G & J Traveling Petting Zoo, who brought a wide variety of animals including camels, kangaroos, water buffaloes, donkeys, goats and a zebra.  We also had bouncy houses and other games.  I personally have always been a fan of the bouncy houses for the simple reason that is one of the few things that can actually wear my youngest son, Luke, down.

But Saturday with the combination of the petting zoo and handfuls of candy from every vendor it backfired.  That boy stayed up until almost 10 pm and was wide open.  We appreciate everyone that came out and visited with us and all of the kids that came out and played in the kids-zone.

The Yalobusha County Cattleman’s Association will host their fourth quarter meeting on Thursday, Nov. 8th.  Dr. David Russell will give the program on pasture weed control.  Dr. Russell is an Extension weed specialist at Mississippi State University.  The cattlemen will provide a meal for this program for all members non-members will be asked to pay $10.
