Wreck Claims Life Of Coffeeville Man

COFFEEVILLE – A Coffeeville man was killed in a one-vehicle wreck Friday evening on Hwy. 330 between Coffeeville and Oakland. Yalobusha County Coroner Ronnie Stark reported Larry Townes, age 64, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. 

Stark reported the 911 call came in at 8:14 and the sheriff’s department, Mississippi Highway Patrol and Tillatoba Fire Department responded to the scene.

Townes was the owner of Townes Trucking, located outside of Water Valley. Services are scheduled Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Townes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
