Ferguson Wins Art Design Contest

Tyler Hill pulls back the veil revealing the logo that will be featured on the carnival tee-shirts this year. The logo was designed by Robby Ferguson and was among 50 entries in a contest sponsored by the Chamber earlier this year.
Robby Ferguson of Oxford Printwear won the Art Design Contest sponsored by the Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce. The contest was open to all current residents, previous residents, and family members of Yalobusha County residents.
Entries had to be original creations that incorporated the 50th Watermelon Carnival theme. There were over 50 entrants in the contest, and Ferguson’s design will be used to promote the upcoming carnival on August 2-3. The chamber congratulates Robby and thanks everyone who participated in the contest.
The winning entry was selected by a carnival tee-shirt committee. Tyler Hill, co-chairman of the 50th Watermelon Carnival Committee, revealed the design at the Chamber of Commerce Spring Banquet, held on April 8. The design will be used for the chamber’s tee-shirts, posters, and various other forms of advertising to promote the carnival.
Look for the tee-shirts to be available in the upcoming month. Announcements will be made in the Herald and on the chamber’s FaceBook page when sales begin.
