Childs Will Speak On History Of Funeral Business At YHS Meeting
The Yalobusha County Historical Society will meet Thursday June 20 at 2 p.m. in its headquarters the former Coffeeville Presbyterian Church. The speaker is Billy Childs and his topic is Yalobusha Funeral Homes. Billy is a partner in Seven Oaks Funeral Home, Water Valley. Refreshments are served afterwards.
4-H Chef School Is Offered For Area Youth On July 16 And 17
The Yalobusha County 4-H is sponsoring a Master Chef School on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 16 and 17th, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Multi-purpose Building in Coffeeville. This is a two-day cooking program for youth ages 10-15. During the program, youth will learn about nutrition, food safety, cooking terminology, techniques and etiquette. The youth will also gain cooking skills through the preparation of several recipes each day.
The cost is $20 per participant. Checks should be made payable to Yalobusha County 4-H. Space is limited to 10 participants. Volunteers are also needed! If you would be willing to volunteer, please sign-up when signing your child up. To register your child please call 675-2730. Fee must be paid to be considered registered for class.
Tillatoba Political Rally Rescheduled To July 27
The political rally originally scheduled June 1 at the Tillatoba Fire Department has been postponed until July 27 due to conflicts with other rallies that day. The fire department apologizes for any inconvenience.
Registration For Youth Football Continues In June
Yalobusha Youth football is looking for boys 7-12 years old to play tackle football. Registration for the 2019 Season continues Thursday, June 13, at the Crawford Sports Complex from 6-8 p.m. The registration fee of $150, includes football jersey, pants, socks, and insurance coverage for the season. VFW Schedules Friday Bingo
There will be only one event at VFW Post 4100 this weekend. Bingo is scheduled Friday night, June 14, with the doors opening at 5 p.m. and play starting at 7. There will be no Saturday night dance this week. Post 4100 is located at 11535 Highway 315, north of Water Valley.
