Attendance Was Down At Tillatoba Baptist Church’s Homecoming

TILLATOBA NEWS
By Patsy Deck

We woke up Monday morning to a loud clap of thunder followed by a heavy rain. I wanted to turn over and go back to sleep but knew I had to get up.
Do you ever wonder where the time goes when you are looking at pictures. I saw a picture of Maci Kent and could not believe how much she has grown this summer. Maci was a pretty little girl now a beautiful young lady. I know the Grenada High School and their high school band are  happy to have her.
Our friend, Martha Box, said she was still fussing about the world being so misled and daily asking God to CLEAN UP THIS MESS. Martha has had the sniffles pretty bad and hasn’t felt like doing much lately. I hope you feel better soon.
Richard Anderson stopped by and visited a few minutes with us Saturday. He was telling me about his mother, Sissie Anderson, being in the hospital for a few days with congestive heart failure. Sissie, I pray you feel better soon.
Tillatoba Baptist Homecoming was a little low on attendance Sunday. Sadie Harper reported there were 25 inside and about 12 outside. Everyone really missed the regular homecoming with a meal, but understood all the precautions we are having to take. Sadie and her daughter, Sheila O’Bryant and Deborah McCool and her daughter, Kim Beavers put up some decorations in the windows and counter. It really looks good and gave it some fall color in the fellowship hall, where the service took place.
Sheila O’Bryant  had to drive to Southaven for her eye doctor appointment Monday morning. I know she was hoping they schedule her next cataract surgery while she was there.
Springhill Baptist Church lost their pastor. Bro Jimmy Martin and wife Carol moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
A big congratulations to my sweet sister, Ann Hudson, and my wonderful brother-in-love, Tommy, on 65 years of wedded bliss. God has blessed them with two beautiful girls, Anne Hart Hames and Laura Jane Torrence and several grandchildren. As Louis (Louie) Armstrong said, “ What a Wonderful Life!”
Visiting with Eugene, Peggy and Erik Bailey Saturday were their grandson and great grandson, Richard and ‘lil Kade Ross.  Peggy said, “ that baby is hard as a rock!”
Dale and Shannon Dukes and grandson, Walker, from Cascilla visited Waylon and Holly Dukes and their baby, Haven Rose. We were there visiting and got to see them too.
Thought for the day…. By the time you find out what makes the world go around, you’re too dizzy to care.
